Re: Hot of the wire, ML 2012 SDCC wave 1 and 2 release news

Post by Xenaphobia on Sun Jul 24, 2011 9:16 am

Marvel Legends: Wave 2 details from marvelousnews.com:

Wave two will include the following characters:

- Bucky Cap
- Wrecking Crew (Running Changes will include Thunderball to Piledriver, so throughout the course of the year different team members will be released)
- Daken (Logan's Son in Dark Avengers costume and a removable cowl)
- Madame Mask/Madame Hydra
- Drax
- Big Time Spider-Man (Black & Green) with "Anckle Rockers" and a re-desinged hips on a horzontial axis.

The Madame and Wrecking Crew figures will have "Running Character" changes so as time goes on different characters in the Wrecking Crew will be released (Thunderball to Piledriver) as well as Madame Hydra will replace Madame Mask. These different characters will also come with variant BAF pieces so you can also create a Red Skull in Zolla's body figure.

***

It's good to see Hasbro embracing more than just the A-Listers, although I must admit that I'm a little surprised that there aren't more A-Listers since they're going to have to try and attract both the old-school ML fans and new ML fans.

And when are they going to release those other figures from that fan-poll they ran way back when? Original Storm? Northstar and Aurora?

Cheers.

Since Marvel legends was basically all I collected I am very happy with this range and this mix. I wont them all and I am pleased to see some intergalatics there like Drax and Terrax.
I would happily pay $30 for each figure.

I may have to limit my collection to Captain America figures .... and maybe intergalactics as I'd love a Nova.

No one posted this, but in the Iron Man Legends line they're releasing the Extremis armor in more comic accurate colours.

I had to read up on what the extremis armour was meant to do / be, and holy bejeebers, its cool and ew at the same time, with the whole nano machine inside his bones yadda yadda, but still, the cool factor wins out =-)

I thought the Extemes concept of having the suit's undersheath inside his bones kinda cool. Having the entire suit inside his bones (Iron Man's current Modular suit) kinda blows IMO.
I'm finding it very hard to read the Invincible Iron Man ATM.....and am unsure how much longer I'll stick with it......which is a real shame because the re-launch of this title with the Extremes arc was mind blowingly good.

Ah, hang on, its a MU figure? Well then that explains it! Im glad the new legends look so much better lol.

Ol UCK, mate, I would keep em personally. You'll never get back the money spent on them, and unless its figures you just dotn care bout, each time you fiddle with em you'll go ' man, thats why I started collecting them in the first place'

Well, thats how I felt when I was thinking of selling off some stuff !

So only sell shizzit you dont actually LIKE anymore!!

So what you do to yourself anyways?

The new ML look good, but for me don't seem like a relaunch - more of a continuation of the old legends.

I won't buy any new ML or DCUC unless it is a version of a character that I must have, and I already have most of those!

I am a bit disappointed with the articulation - I was expecting something new. The horizontal hips on the new Spidey sounds like DCUC artic.

The ML figures are far superior, though some MU figures are nice.

Totally in love with Masque. She looks very 'Bond' to me! Laughing

I'm hoping that is a smaller body they are using for Jubilee.

Isn't it X-23 who is debuting the new smaller female mold? Or did I imagine that??

I think the best news from the Hasbro panel was the fact that the heavy hitters, Spidey, Wolvie, Hulk etc will not come with a BAF piece. So if you already have a default Hulk etc, no need to purchase a new one just for the BAF!!!

It hurts me to say this but, good work Hasbro!!!
