Hot of the wire, ML 2012 SDCC wave 1 and 2 release news

"Once again our man SDComics is the man on the inside at Comic Con 2011 as the con is being set up.
He called us tonight with a little bit of Marvel Legends news that he got from the Hasbro team.

They will be showing Marvel Legends wave 1 & 2 of the relaunch at the show. Wave 1 will be in the case the whole show. Wave 2 will debut at Hasbro’s Marvel panel and then be in the case after that.

Wave 1 will be: Klaw (classic look), Hope Summers, Constrictor, Steve Rogers as the Super Soldier, Iron Man (one of his classic armors), what looks to be the new movie version of Ghost Rider, the Comic Con Thor and the Build-a-figure is Terrax

I’ll have a bit more insider scoop in just a bit.

Hardly setting the world on fire with that line-up for Series 1

So they release some B and C-listers in the first wave ..... very crafty. Damn them I say .... damn them!

Iron Man (hopefully bleeding edge armor), Thor & Commander Rogers are A-Lister's in the MU, Klaw and Contrictor are B to C list villains, Hope Summers I am not overly familiar with but perhaps it will be using the sculpt shown at last years SDCC which looked an improvement on previous Phoenix sculpts, another Ghost Rider....meh and the Terrax BAF GREAT.
I think if we were dished up another version of Wolverine and Spider-man in the first wave there would be more people complaining. I will be happy to see B and C-Lister's get the opportunity much like DCUC with an even spread of fan favorites, villains and female figures across the board.
Now the price..............

Steve Rogers, Modern Thor and a good Ghost Rider (with a bike) will get me interested, and Im still hoping for a nice Comic Iron Man. Constrictor and Klaw will bring in the old schoolers, and Hope Summers is a popular modern character. Sorry Bolo, I totally disagree, I think this is a solid mix out of the gate.

I know it might sound ridiculous but... why don't they change the box art to start this (sorta) new beginning for this line. It might just be the MOC-ness in me but I have always hated the font they use for "Legends" on the front. It makes it look and seem like the same old stuff.
The sculpts (by the look of SDCC Thor) are just 6" versions of Marvel Universe. It is very cool to have any sort of 6" Marvel line... I just want it to be a rival for DCUC... because it can be.

Klaw I like, the others I could take or leave, and I've basically got out of the ML game anyway.

If Dormammu is in the second wave though...

The B and C-listers comment was re: Constrictor (a nice Cap villain) and Klaw (a Black Panther villain). My main gripe with the old ML line was the lack of B anc C-listers, and the lines being hero heavy so the mix is great for a comic geek such as myself. If they release Batroc the Leaper then 'I'm in like flynn'.

Last time I checked Hope Summers was a mutant born after Marvel's Decimation event where Scarlet Mitch .. I mean Witch basically wished away most of the MU's mutant population.

Thanks for the info on Hope Summers Bolo. I've only read X-Men off and on the last few years. Speaking of the Scarlet Witch..... that's a figure I would more than welcome a redo on.
Great suggestion on Batroc as well especially with the Cap movie and Dormammu another must have, Simmo.
Good idea with the new packaging too, I am sure they probably will as the old clamshell was expensive and the uneven shape of Hasbro's packaging never quite done it for me. I would welcome a look similar to DCUC that can be stacked for those MOC collectors.
