SDCC 2011 Anticipation Thread - Including Mattel Voltron and MOTUC Reveals!

Post by Xenaphobia on Thu Jul 14, 2011 2:25 pm

Since SDCC 2011 is just around the corner, I thought I would see what news and reveals everyone is looking forward to.

As a child of the 80's, SDCC appears to have the potential to be a personal "best ever" in terms of news and reveals, including ALL of the following:

- more MOTUC from Mattel, hopefully including the first vehicle, Swiftwind, She-Ra V2.0 (with "sitting" action) and much MORE;

- new Voltron Classics from Mattel, hopefully including all five Lions and in-scale pilots (plus Sven);

- new TMNT Classics from Playmates, hopefully including all four turtles and at least a few confirmed secondary characters like Splinter, April, Casey and Shredder;

- new Thundercats Classics from Bandai, hopefully including reveals of Cheetara and Panthro (although I must admit to being disappointed with the lastest production photos of Lion-O and Tygra, especially the varying colours used for the "flesh/fur" and the mismatched colours used for various joints);

- more DCUC from Mattel, hopefully including some Wildstorm/Authority characters thanks to the new "combined/rebooted/re-launched" DC Universe; and

- new/re-launched Marvel Legends from Hasbro, hopefully including a decent amount of Avengers to tie in with the movie next year.

What is everyone else looking forward to?

I'm looking forward to all of those 80s collections, plus news on Ghostbusters.

Know which exclusives I want to track down but haven't done anything about it yet - just waiting on that pesky tax return. For me: BA Faker, Marlena, Swamp Thing, Indy six pack and maybe Lion-O....

I ordered a few exclusives over the last month:
Marlena/Cringer
She-Ra Polly Pockets
Cloning Chamber Superboy
Doctor Who River Song
Mortal Kombat Lightning Raiden
Zarana (both versions)
Indiana Jones Lost Wave

Now I just have to get Stay Puft & Lion-O & that will do me.

Yes, the difference being that sdcc marlena is the Queen outfit and bio and the Matty one is captain Glenn outfit in pack and bio...

Yes.

Each pack-out includes the exact same figure/accessories. The only difference is the packaging/bio.
