"About Club Lion Force
Remember when I told you awhile back that the Voltron® line was on its way? What I couldn’t tell you until now is that along with Club Eternia and Club Ecto-1, we’ll also have the all-new Club Lion Force! Dedicated to that totally awesome ‘80s TV series, Voltron, all the Club Lion Force details will be announced at SDCC and right here in our News section on Thursday, July 21st. For now, here’s what you need to know: It’ll work exactly like Club Eternia and Club Ecto-1, where you’ll sign up in July for the 2012 subscription. And yes, there will be a club-exclusive item!"
I'm hanging to see pics of this voltron that they are to be making, and hope they at least reveal some CAD or something to show what we will be signing up for !
Stoked, but kinda reserved, if thats possible!
Anyone got more info / leaked pics / etc?

Re: Mattel's 'Lion Force Club'
An old report from actionfigurepics.com:
ALSO, though they had nothing on display, I was able to ask one of the Mattel reps about the new Voltron Classics line. I learned that it is coming in about 5-6 months, each lion will be around $30 each, with diecast parts, spring actions, articulated figures that fit in each lion, sold on MattyCollector.com, and fully combined into Voltron is over 2-3 feet! Also, each will come with a part to build the blazing sword!
They also mentioned that the classic Voltron toys will only be on Matty Collector at first, but once the new series toys hit retail for a little bit, they plan to start mixing the two at retail.
***
I haven't read anything else, apart from the subscription news. Everything should be revealed at SDCC.
Cheers.

Re: Mattel's 'Lion Force Club'
imo has alot of potential and could be a great line.
in particular, cant wait to see if the pilots actually go in the head of the lion (as depicted in the cartoon) or in the back like the vintage toy line made them
always bugged me as a kid

^^^^
I'm guessing they'll go in the "back/torso" unless the figures are really small and the lions are really big.
I'm hoping we get Sven. Perhaps he will be the club-exclusive item?
Cheers.

Re: Mattel's 'Lion Force Club'
I am getting more tempted by this.
I'm not sure if my brother had these toys, or one of my friends...but I recall playing with a Voltron occassionally when I was young.

Re: Mattel's 'Lion Force Club'
So I spent nearly all yesterday watching Voltron!
I headed to YouTube & asked for episode 1....it wasn't long before I was thinking "Wait, wasn't Voltron Lions? What's with the vehicles??". A little research later & I was back in the direction of the Lion version of the show.
I would like a Sven...That poor forgettable stereotype! he piloted blue lion before being 'injured' & Allura took over.
I think within the first 10 episodes Allura faints about 5 times.
I wonder if they will do 2 heads for each character so they can be displayed with their hair or helmet, or whether they will leave it & just make civvie versions down the track?

Re: Mattel's 'Lion Force Club'
The only cartoon that has really stood the test of time for me is the Thundercats, with M.A.S.K being the worst.....
