Lego Duplo

Post by Otter on Fri Mar 18, 2011 10:31 am

My daughter is into Duplo, which is great. Only problem is there isnt much variety of product here in Australia.
Besides ebay does anyone know any good overseas stores where I can buy different lego new and get it shipped here?

Brickset.com has about 30 sets listed at the moment, though I've never used them they're definitely very popular.

No variety of Duplo here in Australia? There's Toy Story, Winnie the Pooh + the regular stuff for little boys and girls. Australia gets pretty much ALL the Duplo sets that Lego produces. Strange that you can't find them locally.

Winnie the Pooh Duplo you say. Might have to get some of them for my nephew.

Does that Eurobricks place stock Duplo?

The ones I mainly find here are just the farm ones. Also construction but my daughter isnt into that one.
The toy story stuff pretty much sold out in stores, I havent even seen any winnie the Pooh on shelf.
I saw a cool Duplo hospital and knights/castle overseas but they wanted to charge like $95 for postage of the hospital.
I have mainly only looked at Big W, Kmart and Uncle Petes.
I see on lego.com I can log in with country Australia and they have a wide range I havent checked on postage yet.

The big problem with Lego in Oz is that there are always sets that are exclusive to particular stores......and Duplo is not exempt from this practice I'm afraid.

Here's a link to the 2011 line-up: http://us.gizmodo.com/#!5764370/lego-duplo-2011-gallery/gallery/1

The Alphabet Set is really cool.....I saw this only last week in Target here.

The Winnie the Pooh stuff should be out pretty soon......If you're having trouble finding it, LMK as I'm more than happy to grab extras (I intend spoiling my daughter) Smile

Oh, and there's "Cars" Duplo due middle of the year! Wink

Hey,
I came across this thing called Jixin bricks. They are cheap lesser quality building blocks that are Chinese knock offs.
For example the Duplo fire station retails at $100 the Jixin version $40.
Anyone come across these?

Good Dr, depends on the legals but it could be a good importing possibility?
I have come across an on line retailer in Australia who is doing this.
