Big wizard guy = newly created humanoid representation of Light Hope from Princess of Power.

Light Hope kind of served the same role on PoP as The Sorceress did on MOTU. But, he was only ever depicted as a giant beam of rainbow light. This version takes elements of the Filmation Crystal Castle and has built them into an actual humanoid figure.

I've had enough of this line and PoP was never my thing (I don't recall ever watching an episode).....so an easy pass for me.

Next thing for me to do is go through my MOTUC collection and cull it right back....

I am. It will be my first subscription, although I'm already worried about changing my credit card details and what happens if I need to change the shipping address!

Not to mention the idea of fighting with Mattel if I choose the cheaper option and something goes missing.

Club Etheria is a go. Though it only made 97% they decided to push it through.

Woo Hoo!! **does happy dance**

***

"You have the power She-Ra fans! Or is that the honor?! Either way, we just hit our mark for the 2014 Princess of Power Club Etheria sub with 97% of the minimum we needed. While not exactly 100%, that is so darn close and we don’t want to be a Twigget in the mud over a few points so the sub is definitely going through!

We will, however, be adjusting production and it is likely the quotas for any potential day-of stock for the Club Etheria figures will be EXTREMELY low. But the good news is if you are a sub holder, not only are you getting six amazing POP figures and the incredible Light Hope figure, but big picture we have taken another HUGE step in completing the vintage road map! The POP sub secures the 2014 POP figures and leaves us free to now add new and additional POP figures to 2015, and assuming we sell-in the 2015 sub, we will indeed finish off both the vintage MOTU and POP lines in Classics – as well as some other A-list figs from media and other sources!

So way to go She-Ra fans! We couldn’t be more excited and are ready to gear up now to sell-in the 2015 sub and truly make toy history! A huge sincere thanks to all the POP fans who went above and beyond to help promote Club Etheria, run match campaigns, run banner ads, and help keep the heat on – we couldn’t have done it without you. We made it to another huge milestone and the best is yet to come.

For the Honor of Grayskull!!!

Scott N."

****

Because the sub sales reached 97% and not 100%, does this mean the figures will receive fewer paint apps or accessories? Or is this only limiting the number of figures to be produced, resulting in fewer day of sale figures being available?

Toyguru:
"Fewer day of units and a rethinking of whether we proceed with other potential non sub items and a potential 2015 add on sub. But the 2014 add on is a go!"

I grabbed a sub.  Very Happy

I love the PoP universe.

Never had the toys, and saw very little of the cartoon, but I love the character designs, and the whole universe is a pretty cool section of the MotU universe in my opinion.

Happy it went through. I love these toys but will be glad when they knock out the remaining vintage.

I can't help but feel they're gearing towards virtually none or even less DOS stock next year. There's not really any A List characters left to do. Tung Lasher is about it, and he's really a bit of a B Lister. I thought Rio Blast would have been held back for 2015 but I also get the feeling they're getting the big guns (no pun intended) out this year, particularly the high tooling ones, so next year can be scaled back if not enough subbers (which likely means Blast Attack and Multibot would be dropped if that happened).

And let's face it, they don't want to be sitting on a shitload of Gwildors and Ninjors, so very likely they're going to be very minimal and this POP sub is an opportunity to just make it look like their hands are forced. Ultimately, I think they want to finish the line with all the characters but they're preparing for it so they're not stuck with surplus crap that nobody wants (can anyone see Gwildor being a hot item? lol).

I think Queen Angella and Mermista would classify as A-Listers and it appears that at least one, if not both, of them will be held for 2015.

I think Filmation Hordak (with Imp) could also possibly classify as an A-Lister. And I'm sure Mara and Critta are A-Listers to NA fans, even if neither character appeals to me personally.

That is about it though. Maybe Dare as well? Although I'm not sure if Dare would be a true A-Lister of MOTU or just an A-Lister of concept characters and that's really only because of his connection to both He-Man and She-Ra.

Fair points, although they're POP and while there's a lot of POP fans out there, the majority of POP fans are main MOTU fans as well. There'd be a fair whack of MOTU fans who wouldn't be enticed by POP A-Listers.

I'm kinda talking A-List vintage MOTU. POP and NA, unfortunately, are probably a tier down in a lot of people's eyes.

True. I'm sure a highly articulated mermaid action figure will win over a few of those PoP naysayers though! And maybe an angelic warrior will as well?

I love all the MOTU verse. PoP, NA, 200x. All of it.
Or maybe I'm just an action figure junkie...Don't know. Don't care.  Laughing

I realise the characters a lot of people really gave a crap about ended with Ram-Man & Sorceress. I'd be more surprised the line is still going, if not for the amazing figures we are receiving.

PoP just squeaking through is not surprising. It is a sign of where the line is at. People say a 200x or another Filmation sub would have sold better...but I'm not sure about that. It probably would have received about the same amount of numbers, if not less. I'd say the main Eternia sub is going to be having its own troubles for 2015.

However long this line goes for, whatever bizarre figures we see...Warts & all, it is something for the ages. That cannot be denied.

I think it ends next year. If they get enough subbers, they may propose another mini-sub for requested characters. If they don't, I can see a mini sub of low tool biggest name figures being offered (Tung Lasher, Angella likely heading the list).

They just need to wow us at SDCC. There's no excuse for holding anything back - reveal everything!

They should have the last Snake Man, the last movie figure, Mara, Critta, Angella, Mermista, Lizard Man, Imp, Vultak, Veena, etc - the entire works.

I'd like to see the rest of the year since there really shouldn't be any characters that they need to keep as a surprise. The remaining vintage MOTUC, PoP and Mara will take up all the slots, except for maybe a surprise in December to bookend the line.

If they wanted to throw in s surprise, then Snake Mountain would be good. Or, a little more realistically, maybe Point Dread.

Oh. I forgot to mention that I would also like Clawdeen.

But, I have a slight preference for Silver Storm instead of Clawdeen, provided they include alternative wings, mask/bridle and other parts to turn Silver Storm into the steeds of the Dark Riders:

Holy crap those skeletons are cool! surprised they aren't a more requested item over the the Org (as far as I know).

If they are going to show a non vintage figure I hope it is Miro or Veena. From a narrative standpoint I need them...for when I attempt to tell my niece & nephew the story of motu using figures! Laughing
