The "Arrival" Thread!

Post by Oz-Scott on Sat Feb 19, 2011 8:27 am

I thought it might be fun to have a thread where we can discuss and post pics of our MotU Classic's figures as they arrive!

My Palace Guards arrived last week!
TG was demoted and had his mug covered straight out of the package! LOL

I'll start with The guards too, this is the day I opened my second set, I made my cat Head the captain, I love the eyes over the face guard!

And welcome Scott, Fantastic to have you aboard! (as you can see I finally worked out my Password! Laughing )

Terrific idea Scott! May aswell start with my latest:

Bow with the non mo head, as that is how i remember the orig figure my sister had:

Shadowbeast with Beastman:

And group shot!

Hey AJ, is that final fantasy bike worth the dosh people ask for it, i have a decent model bike collection, and this would fit in well, but at $120+ is it a good model?

I'll be using the 'vintage Toy' Head for Bow too, It looks fantastic!!

The Final Fantasy Bike is my partners, who collects Game based figures, theres two of them, ones from FF7 and the other is the same character from the film 'Advent Children' He got them both on Amazon for $40 each MISB. Postage was high cos of the size! I LOVE the sleeker one, its amazing how the suspension and hydraulics work in it! (the figures also 100% nicer sculpt, paint and quality!)

He certainly is. Though I am also really looking forward to Shadow Beast & the Etherian Map.

I still need to get some frames for my maps.

Woo hoo! My Palace Guards arrived (ordered 2 sets). Thanks to Joel & DBF for the help.

Now just waiting on all the Feb stuff to show up. They usually arrive around the 25th of the month for me. Though Vikor took a lot longer than that.

Do you have fast or slow shipping?

I have slow shipping and my stuff usually shows up a few days before the next figure goes on sale.. :\

WHAAAA???!!! Shocked
That's crazy!! They should be here soon. How many sets did you order?

My Orko/Prince Adam & Mo-Larr took 6weeks to arrive last year!

I wish my Bow was here! He's the ONE figure that I'm busting for! Might have to check eBay.au and see if I can get my hands on one this week! bounce

Thanks to DBF, I have Bow!!

I used the string from my work pass for his bow. Haha. I didn't like the rope around his neck, so i tucked it between the arrows and Bow's cape.

PS Andrew, I have a vintage Prince Adam with your name on it!

I really thought I'd use his moustache head, cos I didnít really like his gold head band, but in-hand, the non-moustache head wins by a mile!
Do you have string to use on your Bow's bow? I attached one of the clear bands first, but the black string, is better for posing. (I used the string off my work pass, cos it's nice and smooth and, in my eyes, the perfect thickness. Also, it's free. Haha. Lemme know if you want some!)

People on Fwoosh were mentioning using the bands that hold Bow in his packaging are good to use as the bow string.

I tried that, but because it's elasticised, I didnít want it bending the bow out of shape over time..

Re: The "Arrival" Thread!

Post by Xenaphobia on Wed Mar 02, 2011 4:17 pm

I received Bow today! It must be one of the fastest shipping times yet. Just two weeks when it has sometimes taken 5-6 weeks in the past.

As for the figure, he's good, but I must admit being a little disappointed. I don't know whether it's just the super-heat in Brisbane at the moment, but his armour is really soft and pliable and just doesn't "sit" right. I have to jam his "rope" between his chin and the armour just to get the armour to sit flat on his chest. Otherwise the armour sticks out from his chest at an odd angle.

Otherwise, he's a pretty decent figure. Bow is displayed 100% filmation in my display with his moustache head and "heart" symbol. I've had trouble getting him into a proper "archer" pose, but that's just due to my armour issues. I'm not a huge fan of the more restrictive hip articulation, but I guess not every warrior on Eternia and Etheria can wear a loin-cloth.

As an aside, what is up with Hordak on Etheria. Bow's bio says that he was a nobleman in Queen Angella's court, but if he was a nobleMAN, then how old is he if Hordak arrived on Etheria with a baby Adora? Is he twice Adora's age? Has he been fighting The Horde for 20+ years? Or did Adora grow up en-route from Eternia to Etheria in Hordak's spaceship or whatever form of transportation he was using and arrive on Etheria as an adult Force Captain?

I ignore the bios, but I'm just a little fuzzy on how they're explaining Hordak and Adora on Etheria.

Cheers.
