No behind that.

Hey guys,

I'm not a Joe collector, but seeing the pics of Artistix and Sams' awesome collections is making me reconsider... Very Happy

I was stickybeaking on ebay for the last few days, and found this today... no idea if it is any good, quality or price wise, but figured I'd post it just in case.

http://cgi.ebay.com/GI-JOE-USS-FLAGG-Aircraft-Carrier-w-Keel-Haul-Extras-/290535226410?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item43a53fbc2a

Seeing as this is pretty much outta my price range, can I ask whether you guys think the Pit Mobile Carrier from the movie figs is any good? I'm a sucker for huge playset stuff, which is why the idea of the Flagg caught my attention in the first place. Very Happy

<edit> Gah, nevermind, Oceania excluded from shipping. Sad Although I'd still love to hear about the Pit. Smile </edit>

I wish the mobile pit was still available for the 69 bucks that it was clearing out at ages ago at kmart, I really should have nabbed it, as it did look kinda cool.

Yeh the tomahawk is awesome, it took AGES to find one for half decent price, ever since i saw one hanging from the roof of a toyworld when i was in my teens i had wanted it, but they wouldn't sell the display one damn it !

Its a slipper slope Gev, I warn you now!

Joes, Macross, MOTU, Macross are major collecting lines for me but man o man they cost so much to keep up! (and more in random japanese anime toys etc ) so only go down that road if u are prepared ! lol

I got out of Macross early. Smile 1/48 1A, 1J with GBP armour, 1S with FAST pack. Very Happy

MOTU and TFs are my main lines... but I'm pretty fussy with TFs. I recently got a Grand Maximus, which is kinda my holy grail (or as close to as I care to get Razz ), so I think it's mostly just the newer stuff for me to get now. Very Happy

I really liked the idea of the mole things from the movie figs line though... very TMNT too. Very Happy

The Tomahawk is a must have. I will track one down some day.

I quite like the Pit. No stations for figures to sit at or anything but it has some cool features.

THe 25th cards looked great so I felt they had to be on display, seeing as the artwork was a big reason for getting them !

As for the Thomahawk, they fit, but dont expect the pegs on the seats to match up. The old pegs were almost double teh size of the new peg holes.

You can fit a pilot no probs of course ! =-)

Found a complete Rolling Thunder on ebay and teh seller had a complete devilfish with really well applied stickers, so 100bucks plus shipping, its gonna be one heck of a shelf piece!

Apart from a Terror Drome, I think I have most of the big things I wanted now, I just need a big shelf to put em out lol. I dont think i'll ever find a T.D for a good price thats mostly complete that ships internationally.

Oh, anyone have the Defiant here? Thats another big ar$$ vehicle I would like to have ... saw one on ebay in box for a mere $8000....

wonder why i didn't see any bids? bloody bargain! bwhaha

The PF Cobra Commander is really cool looking. I mentioned him on the podcast last night. Well out of my price range at $300 plus postage, but still cool.

This was a set I wasn't even interested in until I started talking GI Joe with Scream Man. Damn you Screamy! Shake Fist Very Happy

$8000 is some crazy sh*t. I'd rather pay a couple hundred bucks for a slightly more beat up version. The Terrordrome I bought was used. Couple of burn marks, & the entire thing was covered in dust & dirt so I have to scrub every last inch of it with soapy water, but it came up looking good as new...well, with a few battle damage marks! Curse those Joes!! Laughing

The top deck came up great though:

you may have a prob with the seats in the troop area. they are all pegged for vintage backs, however they are removable.

I had the same issue with the flagg as it has 3 seats, all pegged for vintage figs. Had to file them down Smile

I'm actually very tempted by the Cobra Commander PF, but I really don't have the space for it, or to start another line. Very tempting though, and a great piece in my opinion.

Sideshow has been doing great work with their 12" line as well. Some nice dios too, so far.

those new 3 3/4 inch joes look amazing for that scale, if the final product looks like that I may have to start getting into these guys again, I used to have a sweet collection when I was a kid, think I sold it all way too cheap in a garage sale Sad

Yeah, the Pursuit of Cobra stuff looks really good.

I'm not sure I'll buy every character again, but I will grab a few of them.

Some of the vehicles look nice:

Ghost Hawk with Tomahawk and Doom Cycle with Storm Rider.
