Laney's Loft - Work Required
I've been collecting for over 20 years. I've a real mix of stuff.
It all started with Star Wars as a kid - but mum sold that off, scaring me for life and the sole reason for my current lack of control with purchasing this stuff (its the excuse I use when my wife questions what I buy and where I'm going to put). I restarted in my teens with a bit of Superman and Batman during the late 80's, 90's and early 2000's, Transformers, Marvel Superheroes, Playmates Star Trek and X-Men - really amped up in '95 with the new lines of Star Wars, looking to replace my childhood memories.
From then I have moved into Marvel Legends, even more Transformers, Rocky, Spawn and many more lines. With Star Wars taking a back seat - I got sick of the repetition and what I consider 'uglier' figures. With that said I have gotten hold of the larger, more detailed vehicles MF, AtAt etc in the last couple of years.
Lately my attention has turned to figures that I really like from across all toy lines. I've been big into DCUC lately, getting the loose figures and characters that I really like, with a view to displaying. I would like to ge more Marvel - but want more for my buck at this point.
I'm going to make the jump into 1/6th scale this year - I want the Marvel big three from Hot Toys (Cap, Thor and Iron Man) as well as Chris Reeve Superman and Michael Keaton Batman from Hot Toys. I just purchased the Hot Toys Chris Taylor from Platoon, which is awesome.
My plan now is to better display all of my gear. I'm in the throws of organising to build a new house, which will have a detached 8 x 12m games room with basement for my collections. So for now here is a look at some of the stuff that is not in boxes stored in my loft.

awesome collection Laney! I really love that Star Wars display case you have your vintage figures in, is that hand made? I love to do something similar to that for my DCUC

Luckily I'm a DT teacher with a workshop and laser cutter at my disposal. Just finishing the mdf frame. It will have white EL wire in the white text and border lines.
I've also installed 20 ultra bright LEDs into the mdf frame around all of the acrylic cells.
This should illuminate the figures and the plastic edges nicely.
My plan is to do something similar for my DCUC as well...when I find the time
Thanks all for the feedback
Ps Myth, it brakes my heart when I open them...I was buying doubles for along time to make myself feel better. But I managed to kick that habit. It's hard enough to buy without getting nagged.
But I have always believed it is easier to ask forgiveness, than permission.
