The Ultimate Pegwarmer

Post by awe on Mon Jan 24, 2011 4:38 am

I was thinking about this the other day as I was yet again disappointed by the assortment of toys in front of me at the local Big W...

...is Marion Ravenwood some kind of record for pegwarmers?

At my spotty calculations, that figure has been around for about 2 years now! Give it up already, am I right? If it hasn't been bought by now, who is going to buy it? Bin it or do whatever it is you guys do with purchase order mistakes (sorry, my knowledge of how retail works is dictated by my imagination only).

I thought it might be fun to ask "What's your most hated pegwarmer?"

Thoughts? Feelings? Smile

Last year at a Toyworld I saw a David Banner figure from the original Hulk movie. There was only one and it had a price of $15.95. 7 years is unbelievable!

There is a guy named Joey Styles in WWE (or was) as part of their ECW brand announce team. His ECW series action figure sat on store shelves forever. If I had a look in Big W he is probably still there along with all those Jakks WWE TTL style wrestling figures!

Up & comming is Norm Spellman from Avatar. At $20 no-one is gonna touch him, including myself....& I actually NEED the figure!! Laughing

Even if I bought one, there is still a dozen left.

Somewhere the other day, and I can't for the life of me remember where exactly (though DJ's Tuggerah rings a bell) I saw a Star Wars VTC figure. I don't even know which character it was, just that it was VTC, which meant...probably 5 years? Maybe more?

Apparently back in the day the Stealth Armor ML iron man was a peg warmer...surprising now considering it's value.
The Transformers Universe Blaster figure, that sat around in my area forever until they had him on clearance for like 15 bucks..

I wandered through Big W today. Saw about 5 Indiana Jones figures left on the peg. All Marion. $5 each. I bought one thinking she seemed better painted that the other Marion I own. I was incorrect. It was really more a mercy buying anyway. Smile
