Diabolik LP Fantastique!

Post by diabolikprime on Sun Jan 23, 2011 12:49 pm

Well along with collecting action figures I also collect records. Unlike my action figures though I actually take these out and play with them! Much like books or graphic novels I like to get 1st/limited editions of vinyl. Some I have picked up along my travels and others I have found in LP shops. I like collecting records because there is nothing like the sound of vinyl on a stylus on headphones and pulling out the sleeves to see the great artwork. Here is the better percentage of my collection.

Very nice collection. I'm not sure, but I think maybe you like your rock on the heavy side? Wink
I have a stack of my Dad's old records (he's a would-be audiophile so his records were all bought brand new and still play like that) but I haven't got a player or amp - or the heart to possibly drop them like I'm prone to do with CDs.
I'm an artwork lover too, had to buy Fleetwood Mac's "Rumours" just so I could have the insert Smile

I love that you seem specialise in certain bands, though you probably didn't mean to do that.

@ BigJay - I was lucky enough to see Mr. Bungle on their last ever Australian tour. Patton didn't disappoint. I too listened to the self-titled over and over and over and over and over and over.... and over! Laughing
Mr. Bungle was a gateway, for me and my friends to all sorts of genres of music. They hold a special place in my heart. Embarassed

@ TheSweetestThing - Yeah... I'm one of those guys who like "the shred" so to speak. Razz I love all types of music though. I have "Rumours" on vinyl too. "Never Going Back Again" is such a sad, pretty song. Much like action figure lines I only go for certain bands. Some are harder to track down than others. It's always great to hear anything new though.

Thanks for looking and your nice comments. Smile

@ The Iceman - I actually do have "The Man Who Sold The World" but alas the back of the sleeve have a horrible tear from the top to the middle. The LP works great though. I thought it would be cheating putting in a record that wasn't really all together. Shame though, I love the cover, B/W the Mr. Bowie kicking the air!

@ NiteOwl - Sad No I don't have "Never Let Me Down" Mad . I suppose I could get it from eBay but If I were to find a mint 1st edition of that on there it would be a little more than I want to spend. Like the rest it will come to me when I least expect it. Errr... By the way, If anyone has a copy send me a PM! Razz Razz Razz
