Mattel Family & Friends Toy Sale 2010
The mother of a kid at our daughter's kindergarten works for Mattel - Hot Wheels division.
As a result I've scored a ticket to the Mattel Family & Friends Toy Sale 2010 this morning at Mattel's distribution warehouse in Derrimut.
She says there won't be much in the way of collectables, and I'm half-fearing it will be all Barbie and Fisher-Price but I'm going for the experience and will report back.
And if I score any amazing bargains, I'll let you know.

Awesome! Good work on getting a ticket anyway, regardless of what they're selling

Re: Mattel Family & Friends Toy Sale 2010
Ok. Very exciting experience!
What they had
For every brand (above) there were a limited selection - maybe 1-5 different items - with Barbie and Fisher-Price being most highly represented. For example re board games the had only Scrabble, or DVD Scene it! (Twilight or Simpsons).
Prices were easily half-price or less.
Of most likely interest to those here, the Batman B&B single carded figures were $1 each, and a figure and vehicle pack was about $12 IIRC. I did my good deed for the day for a woman fishing through the singles exclaiming how ugly the Kanjar Ro figure was by pulling out for her an Aquaman and Black Manta and telling her this was a matching pair of hero and villain. She told me she had no idea. I said, trust me. Then I pointed her towards the vehicle sets.
I didn't note the price of the Wrestling stuff but again a two-pack of figures was definitely < $15.
I bought $100 worth of stuff including dolls for my daughter's next birthday, one of her friend's next birthday, and Scrabble Board Game ($13) for myself and a $3 giant square bag to carry everything in the same construction of the reusable shopping bags - bright red with the Mattel logo emblazoned on both sides.
Apparently 3x per year, and the best way to get tickets is via a Mattel employee.
Good fun.

Say, if you happen across a WWE Elite series Chavo Guererro on the cheap, could you hook me up?

They did not have what you were after. They had Series 4 singles (<$10) and Series 6 twin packs (<$15). They also had something like; "fist pumpin'" such and such, and "foot-stompin'" so and so.
