Where are the Tron Legacy Action Figures?

Post by Shadowless on Mon Dec 06, 2010 4:03 pm

Man those 8” figures look sweet, but I thought we’d have them by now. Maybe we aren’t getting them in Australia. Does anyone know for sure?

I'm sure they'll be stinking up the pegs long after the movie has been released.

Who is making these things anyhow? I'd have expected to see something on the shelves by now given the film starts next week....??

They made by Spin Masters, which is a name you don't see too often with Action Figures.

(It been a long while but arn't Spin Masters in bed with Moose Enterprises in Australia?)

Apparently, Funtastic will be distributing them to toy r us as an exclusive. As an ex employee, my contact on the inside has advised of this.
When i did work there i saw some samples in person. They were not that bad with the special lighting effects they have.

Seems like it's not just toy r us. I saw the Tron 7 inch with talking and light up figures at BIGW. They also had the car and the lightcycles. No 4 inch figures yet.

BTW Tron legacy was quite a good film.

Saw the remnants of Tron toys today at Big W (had one disc device left) and quite a good selection at K-mart (had several discs and the 7 inch figures and the light cycle) both at Garden City Brisbane

Are the figures any good? I saw the film on Friday night and looooved it. I'd like to have a few if they look alright. And what's the lightcycle like?

Grabbed the buggy for my boy for Xmas, seems pretty cool. I was a bit underwhelmed by the light cycles I saw though.

Flynn's cycle looks kinda neat.

I haven't seen a single actual figure yet though. :/

The figures are pretty cool, they have this light up video feature inside their helmets which displays the characters face saying a few phrases, it is really amazing

The lightcycle I saw was for a smaller scale I think, it looked pretty cheap looking :S

I found them yesterday at Big-W Tuggerah. Clu, Sam Flynn and ...that bug looking thing with the wings. Pretty terrible. I'd like real faces, not light up talking bs thanks. Light cycles that already had Sam Flynn on them were atrocious and I didn't take a good look at the buggies. The light disc/ring things were pretty boring too.

Picked up the whole set of the 7” figures today at Big w. They were $18 something each. Couldn’t believe that price as I was expecting them to cost more for such large figures. Love them. Love the articulation and the spacey helmets. Would be great if there was a series two with sculpted heads, but I doubt it will happen.

Picked up the 7" Clu today from K-fart for $20.00.....was really surprised at the price for such a large scale figure with (what I think is) a pretty nifty electronic feature. That saying, I did buy primarily for the fact it utilizes Jeff Bridges voice Wink

I can just see the TheGoodDr hugging his Clu figure in bed while being lulled to sleep by Jeff Bridges’ voice.

Jeff Bridges: “So, you like bikes?”

TheGoodDr: “Ah yeah. That’s the shit.....ZZZZZZZZ”
