Star Wars toy questions from Target Catalogue

Post by Shocka on Mon Nov 15, 2010 7:43 am

Between the proper scale Millenium Falcon and AT-AT, and the new Jabba the Hutt and Rancor, I've started collecting the occasional Star Wars toy, trying to purchase the stuff that's well sculpted and in good scale with 3 3/4". I saw a bunch of stuff in the new Target catalogue and I have some questions about it:

- Star Wars Vintage Vehicles (Snow Speeder and Tie Fighter) - Does anyone know if these are in scale with the 3 3/4" figures and if they come with a pilot figure? Are they well-sculpted? Aside from the figures I haven't seen any other recent "vintage" releases...

- Star Wars Hoth Playsets - What exactly are these? Do they come with actual diorama-like bases or vehicles?

I hope the links work, thank you for any and all help!

well the boxes say on them that the figures are sold seperately, so i'm going to say that no figure is in the box but they will fit in the cockpits.

with the playsets, the defense box contains the following:-

so i'm assuming that the other box set contains the following:-

hope that helped, happy buying

Ahh, thank you! Do any of those look in the right scale for 3 3/4"? Ditto the vintage vehicles?

They're as close to scale as you're likely to ever get......

The Hoth playsets come with three figures each. Attack represents the Empire, Defense the Rebels. In addition to the figures they an AT-ST and a Turret gun respectively.

3.75" definitely but done in the vintage style as opposed to animated.

Damn... I've actually got all of this stuff on my desk at work, and could have answered. >_<

I should check here more often. Sad

Lemme know if you want any comparative pics? Got the defense/attack sets, Falcon, AT-AT and a bunch of starfighters all handy. Very Happy

Ah thank you, but I've already decided to go purchase them Smile One thing I can't decide on, though - is it worth getting two of the walkers? They look awesome..

Incidentally is there a good toy of Vader's Tie Fighter on the market?

I picked up the Vader fighter from a couple of years back... far as I can see, they've been using the same mould forever. I think it had a re-release last year as well? I don't think anything had changed in it. :/

The walker surprised me, actually... seriously considering getting a second one myself. It's got different joints from the last one I got (the Endor one), and is able to do the wonky "I'm a chicken falling over" weird leg poses you see in the movies. That said, it is an absolute bugger to stand up... maybe get one and see how you like it?

Hope that works... should give you an idea of the leg mechanism, if you haven't seen it. Smile
