What old shows do you want the new digital channels to re-play?

Post by Otter on Sat Oct 09, 2010 6:17 am

Its good to see A team and Knight rider re-runs but it got me thinking about old shows that I used to watch and how great it would be if they re-played them.
My list of wants are:
Manimal (guy transformed into bear, eagle and wolf)
Knowhere man (only 1 season, guy wakes up and know one knows him anymore)
Blue thunder (like knight rider but with helicopter)
Night hawk (like knight rider but with motor bike)
Buck rogers
Quantum leap

What would everyone else like to see re-played?

Seconded. Especially as the dvd releases removed all the licenced music and did music replacement on the cheap instead (they didn't even keep Paint it Black during the credits sequence!). The sydicated versions are still intact though, or so I hear...

Nowhere Man was a great show back in the day, and I really enjoyed Duckman as well.

I don't know if they'd bother with something like Mnimal, given that it was cancelled after only a few episodes anyway, and they only made 7 or 8 episodes from memory. Likewise Street Hawk only ran for something like half a season if I recall correctly, as did Blue Thunder, which got absolutely trounced by the similar Air Wolf that started around the same time. Hmmm, I wouldn't mind seeing Air Wolf again either actually...

As to others, I'd like to see the Edward Woodward shows Callum and The Equalizer, Wiseguy, Miami Vice, The Addams Family, Barney Miller, Rockford Files, maybe a few others that escape me right now. Basically shows that I'd like to revisit and check out again that I haven't seen in years and years, but which I'm not quite keen enough for to go out and buy on dvd...

Then again even if they did show any of those shows I watch so little broadcast tv these days that I'd probably just forgot to watch them anyhow, like I do with The Goodies pretty much every week... Laughing

7mate has Rockford Files.

I dunno, I'm torn about this, there's so much great programming that's never sen the light of day on commercial tv or been dicked around so much. I get kinda mad when I see Magnum PI for the 111th time.

I also think that if 7 mate is a channel for "blokes" they need to show Sex and the City 24/7.

Not the whole episodes, just the bits with sex and boobs. Basically a minute per episode.

Its great all these extra channels - don't need foxtel anymore . Now all we need is a 24hour a day cartoon channel and music channel and free to air will be set.
GEM has Bless this House and 7two has been showing Love Thy Neighbour George and Mildred and Man about the House- English comedies so much better than American in the 70's
Love the fact that when I take lunch at work I usually get to watch the A-Team or Knight Rider

I want all ALF, all the time. Very Happy

That and Transformers (G1), MotU & PoP, and more horror movies, goddamn it.

I remember back in the 90's when ABC, 9 & 10 each had horror movies on one night a week, EVERY week. Sad
