Star Wars Keyrings

Post by TheSweetestThing on Tue Apr 15, 2008 2:25 pm

My Mum actually found these in Kmart today however I've just jumped onto mousedroid.com and there we go, a lil newsline about them and a link to the website.
These are done by the same blokes who did the Simpsons figurines (The Promotions Factory).

There's 24 of the little buggers (I've got myself a Stormtrooper) and they range from Episode 1 to 6 with the characters with the likes of Vader, Maul, Greivous, Yoda, R2 and 3PO.

Heres the website with a small picture of each so you can suss who is on your list to get. $2 a pop, pretty nice.

My Mum tells me that she found them as soon as she walked in the store, on a little display to the side.
Also found some hanging around the check-outs which I think is where most will be found.

I think these babies will be flying off the shelves in no time!

Some of the designs are ridiculous.
I had someone from the promotions factory send me some and they arrived today (in a poorly packed satchel) and count dooku & qui-gon's lightsabers had snapped off.
considering they're supposed to be key rings...
darth maul somehow managed to keep his lightsaber intact but there is no way I would use that monstrosity as a keyring.

hopefully i'll be able to get out and find some of the ones I really want soon.

I grabbed a Clone trooper and a Storm trooper, thats about it, the rest were very so-so, and I love my star wars, but what are we expecting for $2 and a keyring, really??

I think Hasbro has alot to answer for, our expectations are now dismal as, and we look at everything through tainted eyes - damn you hasbro.

And before anyone writes it - I know they are not made by Hasbro, just my explanation.

Totally get what you mean Fieldy.
I would never have a collection of one character that was human or alien looking simply because the figures are usually way off.
I mean, I have a clone-focus collection. They still stuff them up but at least the molds are ok.
My next focus collection is looking like Jango Fett. And there's plenty of crappy Jango figures out there...

They cost an arm and a leg for what they are though, there are some die hard collectors out there, I had two walker and single clone packs I picked up for my daughter, I think I pait $8 when they came out, and I decided to cull some of my Star Wars stuff and put them on the bay and bang they went for a round the $40 mark each, now thats psycho.

I put up 2 dewbacks and 6 of the old POTF stormies and that went for $120, so clones and troopers are the rage, but the lego ones are just too costly.

Not just lego that people go nuts over. I've sold a Galactic Heroes 2 pack (Jango & Obi-Wan) for $50. And as I've had 2 of these at different times, I'd sold both for around the same price.

It just goes to show some people miss out on things and then go all out to complete or start their collection, now where did I put all the storm trooper and biker scout galactic heroes packs.... I know I got 6 of each somewhere...

Ching Ching. LOL

Saw these key rings at K-Mart today, but not loose. There were two different boxes of 'collections', one just had series one and the other had all three series, plus a (wait for it) GOLD Vader exclusive! (LOL)
Big box was about $50 but looking at the figures the paint apps were appalling and they all have key rings hanging off them, so I passed...

I'd say Jabba is the coolest one out of the lot, shame he's rare. Artoo, Vader and Maul are quite good as well.

I was lucky enough to find a holographic Vader this morning at K-Mart. It's the same as the regular Vader but completely made out of blue clear plastic. It looks very nice. I'll probably call it a day with these things now. Smile

all I have to say now is that I couldn't have asked for a better clone mold.
only problem is, when I went to pick some of them up from my local kmart (picked about 5) the checkout lines were insane. so I grabbed a hasbro clone off the shelves and another galactic heroes pack and snuck off to the laybuy line where there was no one. I'll be picking them up in a couple of weeks time when I get over the parramatta fair! Wink
