Definitely "Classics" as I loved the show and toys as a kid. I must say that the larger revamp figures are looking pretty good too.

BBTS has cancelled, or will be cancelling, all international pre orders for at least the classics versions of these at the request of Bandai America.

Screw you too bandai.

Toy collecting just aint what it used to be, we have to see a bazillion different Ben 10 figs cluttering shelves, great for the kids I know, but a terrific line like the t-cats get pushed aside.....

thing is, even if there is a local release, they would undoubtedly charge a lot more.

If were really want , I guess overseas hookups can help out, but Im not inclined to bother at this point. I'm spending way too much on toys at the moment as it is.

reminds me of the reasons why I started customising to start with!

lets melt all those ben10 figs in a big vat and make a 20metre tall lion-o !

ugh why would they demand no international orders? makes no sense unless they have a retail release planned, even then it seems silly shafting willing customers like that Sad

yeh no idea. Guess it's all to do with individual countries licence's or something. Killing potential profits sounds retarded I know, especially considering how lacklusterthe local scene usually is.

Honestly buy 99% online these days cuz nothing is ever in stores around here that I want. Doesn't help I collect Macross and gi joe which has zero coverage here, but still its annoying and sad at the same time!

Pics of the production (non-SDCC) Lion-O:

Looks good, although I really wish the ankle joint was cast in the same blue as his boots. The orange plastic is really out of place.

Cheers.

6" (NOT 8") Thundercats "Classics" to be released (?):

http://toynewsi.com/index.php?itemid=17859

It's possible that the press release is wrong, but I have to say that while I've managed to avoid the 8" Classics figures to date, there is no way I could resist adding Lion-O and a few others to my collection (probably amalgamated with MOTUC just to give my inner child a buzz).

Re: Thundercats SDCC

It was kinda stupid to have 8 in the first place.

Mine are on their way as I type this from the US, but Im glad to have the option of nabbing my preferred scale of 6 inch.

I was looking at the case assortments on BBTS, why o why cant they have an assortment that has one of each character in it for crying out loud! I hate how suppliers do that.

I'm a little concerned on the running changes for the marvel stuff, i just hope that there is an option of 'whole case of every figure please' somewhere.

Pics of the new 6" Classic Series and New Series figures:

http://toynewsi.com/news.php?catid=291&itemid=17951

I was sorely tempted by the idea of 6" Classic Thundercats, but that head-sculpt on Lion-O is not for me. I don't understand why they felt they needed to go with such an exaggerated "angry" expression? It's not like a new head-sculpt is really going to encourage anyone who collected the 8" figures to suddenly switch to 6" figures since the two differenct head-sculpts cannot be displayed together.

Anyway, the complete absence of Thundercats toys down under probably takes any of the "choice" away when it comes to procuring these figures.

That 6" modern Cheetarah looks cool. Except that her head looks too small & her hands too big! Very Happy

Not a fan of 6" Lion-O's face. Screaming sculpts don't do much for me.

It sounds like Thundercats will soon start screening on channel 9:

http://www.tvtonight.com.au/2012/02/returning-kids-wb.html

That will probably increase the likelihood of the action figures (at least the "new series" figures) showing up in stores down under.

EDIT: Thundercats appears to be starting this Saturday, 18 February 2012.
