Couple of general questions

Post by Artistix on Thu Jul 22, 2010 4:17 am

Hey folks,

Just have a few questions about two toy lines.

Firstly is Transformers. I avoided the line for years as it had no humans (I like my humans!). I see they made several 'Human allies' sets for Revenge of the Fallen which I plan to pick up & I was wondering if they are in scale with the rest of the ROTF range or if they were made bigger to properly fit the figures?

Secondly is about the Revoltech style figures
In general how sturdy are these figures? I recall someone from this forum showing us their Queens Blade French Maid looking girl so I know one of us collects them. I'm not generally into this style, but the amount of posing ability these little figures have has lured me in! Plus I see they have made Batman figures, Street Fighter figures & versions of Rei & Asuka from Neon Genesis which is awesome (no Shinji??).
Any highly recommended Revoltech figures from whatever range?

the Human Alliance Transformers figures were made about 1/3 bigger than the deluxe figs to accomodate the human inside the vehicle. they look more inscale with Leader class Figs like Prime and Starscream.

With the Transformers, What they're actually in scale with completely aren't so much the other movie figures but the Alternators/Binaltech figures which saw release a few years back.

On that front you might want to check out the BTA figures on ebay sometime.

All 3 (Red Alertw/-Ai, Sunstreakerw/-Junko and Blasterw/-Lumina) come with humans and unlike the KISS Play line, they don't have the demon-robot-hentai overtones.

Just something to consider checking out.

Honestly I reckon the best way to go with any figure are swivel joints. Sure ball joints look great, but they also tend to wear out so much faster. Actually rachet joints are arguably the best way to go, but sadly they're also the noisiest by a country mile heh

Yeah, the Human Alliance are the same scale at the Binaltech/Alternators released a few years ago. I had someone return a broken Human Alliance Bumblebee recently and now the Sam Wickety that came with it sits behind the wheel of a BT Silverstreak WRX in my home office display Smile

Figma I found are just slightly better then Revoltech (Although the joints seem to be alittle more fragile. I've had more Figma joints break then Revoltech. Revoltech I can at least get replacement joints.) Robot Damishii are very good but being a Bandai product you will only ever get Bandai Stuff like Gundam.

Personally I really like Revoltech not fond of some of the prices but nobody can top the amount of licienses they seem to have. (Toy Story, Lupin, Gundam, Transformers, Street Fighter, Alien, Fists of north Star, Eva, more Robot and Anime than you can poke a stick at etc) They had enough Robots to keep me interested before I go sucked into the Fraulein and Queen Blade series.

Thanks for the advice on the Transformers peoples. I might just buy the Human Allies series & then focus more on Transformers animated as my main TF line.

ragericho wrote:I will not buy revoltech anymore its the worst joint system ever!

No good for play? loose joints? just ugly?

Octane wrote:Figma I found are just slightly better then Revoltech (Although the joints seem to be alittle more fragile. I've had more Figma joints break then Revoltech.

Ah Ok OK, so Figma & Revoltech are 2 different things. I'll be ordering one of each shortly (Billy Herrington & Queens Blade Menace) so it will be interesting to see how they go.

Actually a really good line to go for is the Alternity line, really complex and interesting transformations while still having a classic feel to them.

Another Transformers question folks:

I am going to buy the upcoming fan release Arcee, so I will need some friends to go with her. Can anyone tell me (or guess at) which Optimus this is posed with her?:

Do people recommend the MP Prime? or is there another that would look better with Arcee?

I've got the Arcee car in the pic. It's small but as a bot and even as a car she is in decent scale with other G1 Autobot cars. The original cartoon sucked a little bit when it came to scale of toys compared to their animated selves.

Re: Couple of general questions

Sorry folks, just one more question.

I ordered the TRU exclusive animated Arcee. Just wondering which of these animated Optimus figures would look best next to her:

Thanks for your help. thumbs up1

I think the second one is the one closest to scale with her. The first one would tower over her, and the third one is a bit smaller than her I think. Smile
