Re: Sideshow's Alien & Predator Dioramas
Story time!
- Prologue -
Alien is my all-time favourite film.
Last year, Sideshow released the first of their Alien polystone dioramas, (in my opinion) the very pinacle of what a fan of the films could want in a high-end display piece from each of the films.
I wanted it so much, but being an unemployed student, I had not the financial means to acquire it.
Shortly after it went up for preorder, it sold out.
After it shipped out, I placed my name on the Wait List, in case any should become available (something I had done numerous times before on other Sideshow products, with no success).
- Fast forward to 2 weeks ago (from the time this is posted) -
I recently got a job as a pick-packer in a liquor warehouse, after spending 3 months in bed, with no motivation after having to leave college.
Long hours, but the best job I've had yet.
Then after my 2nd day on the job, I receive an email from Sideshow collectables.
THEY HAVE AN ALIEN DIORAMA FOR ME, AND IT WILL SHIP IN 2 DAYS.
After all this time, after being sold out so long ago, and appearing NOW?!
Could it be "fate"?
The penultimate collectable, from my favourite film, long since unavailable, appearing without warning just 2 days after I gain employment...

- NOW -
Today, I drove over to the local FedEx office, and picked it up.
PHOTO TIME!!!
Behold my pride and joy!

P.S. All of these photos were shot on my PC desk. I just turned on my desk lamp, pointed a flashlight at it, then snapped away.

Alien 3 diorama acquired.

I ordered a macro lens today, so I'll wait for that to arrive before I attempt to take good photos of it...
