The fact we have our own courtyard will make up for it. Plus we don't go swimming that often anyway. Pretty excited though!

Fuck. Fucking real estate agent pricks. After telling me today that the sellers were with their solicitors signing the contracts, I got a call from the real estate agent at 6.30pm saying that they'd really been negotiating with another buyer, and we've been fucked over.
Can't tell you how angry I am right now.

Bad news Simmo, similar thing happened to us a few weeks ago. Your best revenge is to tell EVERYONE you know in that area how bad that agent (and his company) f**ked you over. Nothing spreads faster than a bad rep....

Gazzump, that sucks mate, the only way to avoid it is to put down cash INSTANTLY, that way the house goes off the market....

Yeah, we'd given them a cheque for the deposit last night...they just decided to fart around and play us.

I'm not so disappointed about losing out to someone with more money...it's more about the fact that all day we've been pretty blatantly lied to by the agent, especially after he told us that we had won the property. I just can't stomach that kind of dishonesty.

But if you put cash down that's it, we had people hunting ours after we put down a deposit but by law it was ours....

If its sold at auction they cant really sell it to someone else can they?

I work in land sales, which is similar and I know once a deposit is taken and the contract is signed by the buyer they have dibs on the block of land, appparently real estate is different in each state so its not easy to give advice, but yeah bag the shit out of the agent, lodge a complaint with fair trading,(real estate in qld is looked after by them so I would assume a gov body looks after it in each state) or speak to the principal of the agency.

I think that's why the agent called me at 6.30 last night...we had a signed contract (and he'd lied that the sellers had signed it) and when the other fofer went up, he had to give us right of reply.

We put in an offer prior to auction because we're not going to be in the state on the auction day.
