Post by moldie13 on Tue Jun 01, 2010 9:02 am

inspired by various "artist series" customs (things like "munnys", sideshow's stormtroopers, or most recently hot toys' iron man show, i kinda jumped into some stuff and, so far, am pretty proud of what i've got.

my "at-st battle league"-

the first one-

thanks, man!

these are hasbro's most recent version of the at-st's, so they're very articulated. here in the united states (i'm in las vegas), they were exclusive to wal-mart, but they were also released, briefly, in discount shops at less than half the price. they're in scale with regular star wars figures, basically.

they're a blast to do. i wish i could find about a dozen more at the cheap price, i'd be working on these forever, haha!

thanks for all the kind words, i'll definitely post pics of the third one when it's completely finished. it's a tough one to photograph, unfortunately because too far away, and it loses all the detail, hahaha!

i don't really collect star wars stuff, but when i saw these at the store, i knew i could do something really cool with 'em...

thanks again, folks!

thats some cool stuff going on there, very 'out of left field' wouldn't have thought of doing that. Mad max meets Mechwarrior to me!

Hemish, I never saw those here either dangit! pity, but also, it would have been a hundred bucks anyways so prob just as well they weren't !

thanks again for the good words, folks, i really appreciate it!

i haven't gotten back to the third one yet for photos. plus, there's one "battle extention" weapon/arm thing left to work out and though i know what i wanna do, doing it's another thing altogether, haha!

number three's a heck of a tough one to photograph right because it's so dark and loses the detail pretty easily at a distance.

one of these days i'll get some pics up...

These are absolutely brilliant - as others have mentioned before, there's a great Mad Max/Road Warrior vibe there (love the flames on the first one, and the rollcage bars on the last).

It'd be cool to see one of these with larger arms and maybe a melee weapon of some sort (anti-ewok hammer? ;o)) - the possibilities are pretty bloody endless, eh?

They're very impressive! Great idea and work. Would love to see some stop motion animation of the AT-ST Battle League battles.
