Star Wars at the moment...

Post by TheSweetestThing on Fri Apr 11, 2008 9:48 am

At least in my area, is rather rubbish.

My local Target has about 20 Galactic Heroes 2 packs on the shelf.
All of which were either the red guard or snaggletooth packs.
Few figures, some new, not much, mostly crap.
Those rubbish new lightsabers are everywhere and Target has about a million of the crappy two pack ones.

Big W still has the last of the OTC figures on the shelf. Still. STILL. They've been there for what, 2 - 3 years? Come on...
Otherwise they have a few of the newer Saga figures.
But they have some great selections of Galactic Heroes. Shame they weren't actually in the damn computer system or I'd have bought 3 packs.

Ok, end rant. Razz

In other random news, I'm really looking forward to getting my hands on the Jedi-Con Clone two-pack - they look fantastic.

man Star wars stuff got bloody expensive! When did the V-Wing go up to $80?!?! That was in a TRU.

Casefreshes figures are all pricey too. The battle pack with 2 clones and the ball turret for the gunship is $70!!!!! WTF!?

When I started collecting again late last year/early this year SW stuff was amazingly cheap! Hell, the Falcon came down to $100! How is all the small stuff so expensive now!

If it came to the small V-Wing for $80 or the Turbo Tank for $100, that wouldnt be a hard choice, Im tellin ya now!

Jesus, that's ridiculous!
I mean, 4 figures in a battlepack for $70...kind of works out if we're talking regular full price figures. But not 2 figures and a pod or one figure and a lump of plastic that is apparently supposed to be a "gelagrub" (whatever that is).
Thats ridiculous. I'm glad I've moved onto higher end pieces.

Its not just Casefresh. In fact i should find a star wars thread an take it there, coz by puttingit here Im implying that CF is worse.

oooo, ressurection!

So this is my shifting this out of the Casefresh thread, since it isnt Casefresh really thats the propblem. I checked out a TRU last night and was stunned at the Star Wars Vehicle Prices. Smaller toys like the TIE Advanced, V Wing, Torrent and various droid things were all $80, the AT-TE and Clone Tank were a whopping $250 (Which is more than I paid for my Falcon on the day of it's release) The Y and B Wings they had everywhere were $90... Its just kind of crazy! Its only been 8 months since I stopped buying Star wars, how did all the prices leap up?! Ive gotten a couple of figures on ebay, but I cant afford the vehicles anymore, which is really sad i think. Vehicles are the best part of Star Wars.

oh, the GI Joe PIT was also $250. The US price is about $90 I think. Even woith inflation and then shipping, Im pretty sure I could buy it online cheaper than buying it out here. Its crazy!

I suggest gettign out of hasbro totally and only going for the better quality of Sideshow and GG stuff. I find the Hasbro scuplts are good, but the plastics are crap...and too expensive for what they are.

(p.s. use a valid email address...reply to the rules email and you are on)

Sideshow and whatnot are more expensive. I have some 12inch stuff, but Im pretty selective.

But heres one for ya kids: Kmart had the turbo tank for $130! Thats $120 LESS than TRU!

It seems more stores to the south and west of Sydney proper are still getting new figures, just nothing on the north shore. Unsurprising, we suck for toys...
