Hi Funky,
haven't been on at all myself lately but I'll be there with my two tables as per usual.
It will be either eleven or twelve years of participation (can't remember exactly) and I still get all enthusiastic and excited as it approaches. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Thats a toughy ! There are certainly people who do make the trip across (mayby some from Sydney too). Its certainly a big show, with a hell of a lot to look at. Id have to say that diecast tends to dominate, but people such as iceman do have plenty of action figures for sale.

Last year it wasn't in the largest hall and wasn't on the long weekend, and from what people tell me that affected numbers. But this year it is the long weekend, and we apparently have lots more space and should attract a bigger crowd and supposedly more sellers.

I'll stick my neck out and say yes, its worth it.

Seeya there Ice !

P.S. Anyone know how to change email address on this site ? I've gone into profile but the email is not changeable !

Mega Toy Fair Adelaide 12-13 June 2010

Post by cobblepot49 on Mon Jun 14, 2010 5:35 pm

I once again attended this years Toy Fair as a seller. It was my 15th year as a seller and it is still a great show to be at. A high pertcentage of sellers are regulars at this event and continue to support the show. The organiser, Andreas Flenche' is well known here in Adelaide with not only organising the Mega Toy Fair at the Wayville show grounds but also the regular Toy Swap Meets at Hahndorf. He is an absolute gentleman to deal with and makes it easy for everyone to have a good time and a positive experience. This years show was held inside the new Goyder Pavillion and there was no shortage of toys and collectables covering most themes and eras. It is always good to see what the interstate sellers have on offer and not finding something of interest is almost impossible.
This year was no different with many vintage tin toys on offer including some rare boxed items. For me as a Batman collector, a boxed Batman Tin Robot by Nomura was a stand out as were a number of Japanese Tin Batmobiles and Lincoln Futuras. If your passion is die cast toys then this was the place with thousands of different makes and models available. Model kits, vintage Barbies, vintage Star Wars, Scalectrix and so much more. I will try and post a few photos from the weekend Fair asap. Without sounding like a salesman I would recommend this show to any collector or seller that hasn't been here before. We all know it's easy shopping on ebay but to go to an event such as this and physically touch and look a toy of interest over is still a fun and exciting experience. It also gives the buyer an opportunity to talk price in person which can also lead to a relationship with dealers if you are looking for other items. We have dealers from all over Australia and a regular seller from Japan who always has some wonderful toys on offer. See you there next year but get in early if you want to sell as it always books out fully.
