Bandais "Armour Plus" line.

Post by The Scream Man on Wed Feb 24, 2010 4:41 am

So yesterday I got a toy I have wanted since I was about 14: A 18cm tall Tekkaman Blade figure. That's Teknoman for those of u that watched Cheese TV in the mid 90s.
Blade is the character and the armour design that made me branch out from basic comic designs in what I drew and what I loved.
The Bandai Armour plus line is similar to its Saint Seiya line; a basic core figure with detachable armour that fits over the top, but still maintains high posability
http://higehobby.web.fc2.com/review/goukin/ap_blade/ap_blade_000.html
Blade has a core body, but i dont think anyone will ever display the figure like that. WIth the armour on he is huge and bulky; The diecast has a real matte finish to it not feeling like metal at all, but still giving a lot of heft to the figur
ARticulation is great, with nice stiff joints and good range of motion. He can't look up due to the design of the head/neck area, but otherwise its great range of motion.
He comes with 5 pairs of hands, his Teklance, His teklance in 2 halves, his arm shild and the razor whip that comess off it, as well as all the detachable armour. His VOl-Tekka blasters pop up on his shoulders just as in the show.
So kick ass toy, and great work from Bandai. I plan to get the Alto from Macross Frontier and Ryu from Samurai Troopers oiver the coming months, but wanted to share this figure first. oh, I stole these pics, but will try n get some of my own up soon.

edit: The link should work, I hope.

Wow - never heard of these before, but this guy is pretty slick. How do the joints compare to Revoltech? Looks like you get a similar range of movement.

they're more like standard western action figure double joints. they're well disguised though, so worth a look.

this guy set me back $85, which for a Japanese import and a diecast metal toy isnt bad at all.
