Centurions

Post by bowspearer on Fri Feb 05, 2010 4:40 am

This is a toyline that is semi-low on my priority list in terms of collecting, but I figure that more than a few people are bound to have fond memories of it. Currently have a mint loose Jake, MIB doom Drone strafer and MISB Max Ray and Hacker. Anyone else here collect them?

The weapon system connectors do leave you feeling nervous about them breaking, but they definitely are an awesome toy line to own, albeit downright expensive in some cases.

I have been collecting these lately. MISB versions of Jake Rockwell and Max Ray are on ebay all the time

This line, along with M.A.S.K are long over due for an update. Unfortunately Centurions was classed as a failure but I think that is just because it was well before its time. It had designs by comic legends Jack Kirby and Gil Kane

Hasbro owns Kenner but I don't know if the still have the rights to Centurions

So how big is your Centurions collection? So far all I own are Jake Rockwell, Max Ray MISB, Hacker MISB, a Doom Drone Strafer MIB and a MOSC Power Pack. Oh and a Doc Terror Flashlight MISB.

Id want Ace and all his suits. I can remember his basic one, a space one, one with bigger wings... and I think thats it.

Jake has Wild Weasel which was awesome, and also a helicopter which I always thought should have been Ace's

Completely disagree here. If you think about it, even though they were referred to as land, sea and air specialists, when you look at them, they're more like army, air force and navy specialists, which places Hornet straight into the land operation specialist's sphere of expertise.

Except that last I checked, helecopter pilots were generally a part of the Army and not the Air Force Wink

But the difference is that jets are predominantly air force, just as helecopters are predominantly army.

Just went a it crazy and won the following on eBay, all MISB- 2x Doc Terror (he shows up that rarely on eBay, I figured I'd grab both while noone noticed the auction), Ace, Hornet & Depth charger. Open to trading the 2nd Doc Terror figure for sealed weapon systems Wink.
