Vintage Toy section

Post by bowspearer on Fri Feb 05, 2010 2:20 am

I was wondering if there was any chance of there being a vintage toy discussion section at all. One problem I find as a new member in terms of posting is when I look at the discussions, all I see are discussions on current lines which to be honest I have zero interest in. I'll admit I mainly joined because I figured it would be easier to downsize my collection on a local action figure forum than an international one, but I'd also be posting a lot more if there were more discussion on 80s toy lines, which nowadays and with the exception of transformers from 1992 and 1993, make up the entirety of my collecting focus.

Not answering for the admins here, just from my understanding that with the small amount of members we have, its easier for everything to be more condensed into less boards. Otherwise its just loads of boards with sparse threads.

In the mean time, I'll start up some treads for 80s lines I collect and see what happens.

Yeah, we're not going to start separate toy sub-forums. Things ebb and flow too much for that...5 years ago all the discussion was about ML. Now it's MOTUC. There's really no point in a forum this size splitting things out too much. We'll only do that if the volume of discussion warrants it.

Try not to start too many threads at once though. Let's keep the discussion simple for now, and if it grows, we'll manage it.

And because I've been ultra busy and haven't been around much since you joined, welcome aboard!

Now that you mention it, having a MotUC split board wouldn't be a bad idea.

Seriously.

If we hadn't had 70-odd pages disappear, that thread would be closing in on 100 pages by now.

I can't, unfortunately. It's to do with our hosts. I'm looking into something we can do about this sort of thing though.
