Marvel Select figures

Post by BoloMusashi on Tue Apr 08, 2008 6:40 am

Spotted pics of the upcoming Marvel Select Captain America costume at MarvelousNews.com.

MarvelousNews.com wrote:
Though itís true that Captain America has had better years, itís finally starting to look up for the patriotic legend. Sure he was forced to go on the run from the authorities, adopt a fake identity and fight his former friends. No problem that he was arrested and trotted out for a public trial in the wake of Civil War. Not a big deal that he wound up with more holes than the Clone Saga. After all, heís getting a new Marvel Select action figure!

Featuring the birth of a new legend, the next piece in the illustrious Marvel Select line is none other than the all-new Captain America! Showcased in Captain America #34. Sculpted by Sam Greenwell and featuring 14 points of articulation, this seven-inch hero also includes a gargoyle rooftop base perfect for wall or shelf display!

** Kept the topic title generic, so feel free to hijack and post any Marvel Select info/pics etc. here. **

Odd choice of a preview pic which obscures a third of the actual figure. The blue looks extra shiny.

Nothing much left besides black trunks and boots. Since they're bigger than the Marvel Legends line, I only collect the large characters, e.g. The Watcher, Thanos etc. Tempted to grab this one since I'm a Cap fan, but I'll probably try to customise it Rolling Eyes

I've also read in other forums that people are complaining that no ears can be seen under the cowl, that his head is perfectly round. I don't mind the costume though.

I like the new costume too - IMO it reflects the personality of the person under the cowl, plus shows their respect for Steve Rogers.

Marvel Select really doesn't do much for me, except for those bigger characters as mentioned above. Mephisto, Thanos and the Watcher are excellent figures, as were the Brood/Skrull. Other than that, the slow release rate and scale doesn't attract me at all.

I have been after that Ultimate IM for ages. The Hasbro version kept me happy for a while but nothing beats the original.
I got Hulk the last time they did a re-release along with She Hulk and U Spidey. Hulk is way cool!

Marvel Select Captain Marvel

Looks nice enough. I only use the MS line for larger scale characters, e.g. Thanos, The Watcher etc., so I'll have to pass on this one.
