Has anyone used Cash Converters?

Post by SpeedBreaker on Mon Feb 01, 2010 6:29 am

Hey all.
I've been thinking about selling some of my figures (mostly Transfomers) and rather than using ebay I was wondering if selling them at Cash Converters was a good option. Has anyone used them and have any good or bad experiences? The figures I want to sell are loose but in good contition and complete.

hmm don't think I've ever seen any toys in cash converters but if they buy/sell them like other stuff then I don't think you'd get much (and then they'd try to sell them way over value). I think your best bet of getting something worthwhile for them if you didn't want to use ebay would be this forum (in trading section) or maybe your local trading post.

Good luck! Smile

It's been ages since I'v walked into a Cashies but I think they do buy/sell toys. I doubt you'd get anything for them though. Probably best to either offload them here or your local trading post.

Yep what they said above.....their focus is business not helping people out so you always get offered nothing for your stuff....they know that most people going through them need the money/to get rid of stuff so they (in my personal experience) only ever offer low amounts....If you can't be bothered with 20 ebay auctions just post them as a bulk lot.... or list here

If they were even interested in buying them from you, then you'd be lucky to get 5 cents on the dollar against what you paid for them. Cash Converters works on the desperation principle, which is why most Cash Converter stores are filled with second rate junk that people couldn't get rid of anywhere else, or couldn't be bothered trying to, or stuff that was sold for peanuts because the, uh, owners...were truly desperate for quick cash.

I'd suggest trying to sell almost anywhere else first, before even considering somewhere like that.

Thanks for your thoughts, guys. I've never sold anything online before so I was just considering my options. Perhaps I will make a sale post here sometime in the near future. Cool

Ebay works & gets you a wide audience for a cheap fee.... & I guess never send anthing until you get paid.
