Well I'm bloody glad they axed the 6 movie deal that I heard about. I remember back after the 1st one thinking, 'wow, that's awesome!' And after the second, 'hope the next one's better'. After the third the franchise went in my mind's metaphorical rubbish bin.

Hope the new series is better.

Read about this on /Film this afternoon. A tad disappointed that they rebooted the franchise so quickly but I guess things got muddled and messy after the third movie. If the new movie(s) can capture the mood of the first two movies, then I'll be happy.

I dont want to sit through another spidey origins story.
The first one was ok the second close to dam perfect and the third was utter crap, it didnt need a reboot just a decent script to make a decent movie

I never quite understood all the praise for the second one, whatever it was that really seemed to work for most people didn't particularly jazz with me. As such I found the first two films both 'okay' but neither really blew me away, and the third one was largely just painful, so I can't say I'm all that opposed to a new team takinga shot at Spidey and bringing their version to screens, just as long as they line up a quality director, writer(s) and cast list that is.

That said, I can understand those that loved this series so far being disappointed by this news.

You know who I really feel sorry for? The guy who played Dr Connors in the last two films (Dylan Baker), never actually getting any chance to ever play The Lizard now, at least one would assume anyhow.

I know!

It's like Billy Dee Williams as Two-Face all over again!

Sad

Though who knows, he still might get the role! Shocked

I have to say, I'm pretty disappointed. If only because it's too soon, in my opinion.

But who knows, it COULD end up well (as long a shot as that is).

Yeah, I think its far too soon to re-boot the franchise. Although the re-boot Hulk was (kinda) well received, it didn't exactly set the world on fire and I doubt we'll see a continuation of the re-boot franchise.

Hmm, knowing the Twilight cast...doesn't really make me happy. None of that cast really works...unless they use Jackson Rathbone (Jasper). I guess he'd be okay :S

Take it with a grain of salt, but here's a supposed synopsis for (the now scrapped) Spider-Man 4...
Peter Parker gets over MJ, finds a new girl, falls in love. But: Peter also discovers her father is actually the Vulture, a naughty green guy with wings to be played by John Malkovich. Peter is torn between the love of his new lady and taking down the Vulture. Being a Spandex tight-ass, he decides to take down the Vulture, and kills him. This patricide goes down poorly with Peter’s new fiancée, and she rejects him. Despondent, Peter decides to abandon his superpowers, and Movie No. 4 ends with Peter Parker throwing away his Spider-Man mask, and audiences wondering if they are watching Superman II.

Unfortunately, as insane as it sounds, there's a lot of evidence out there to back this synopsis up.

God no.

His Spider-Man script back in the 90's was far worse than Spider-Man 4 was going to be.

High resolution photo of Spider-Man in costume from "Spider-Man 3D"!

Mechanical web shooters?! Shocked

Overall, I'm not really liking this costume very much, but it's far from terrible.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man (3D) (2012) Official Movie Thread

Post by Xenaphobia on Mon Jan 31, 2011 5:25 pm

The gloves seem to be an odd design. The rest of the costume is quite basic/simple, yet Peter Parker decides that his gloves (of all aspects of his costume) need to be "jazzed up" with blue fingers, etc?

The silver booties are also bizarre. I know it's not at all realistic that superheroes go around with their costumes on under their civilian clothes (just where does Superman store his cape), but at least the regular "sock feet" that Spider-man had in the first three movies could *possibly* be worn under shoes. I can't imagine how silver tap-shoes would be at all comfortable with a pair of trainers over the top.

Still, other than the gloves and boots, it's okay.

Cheers.

I'm going on the fact that those boots and possibly the fingers are all going to be edited with CGI, maybe even the eyes as well.
Unless they're going for a suit that someone could actually make and wear more realistically (to that I say, laaaaaaaaaame).

they've just changed it to be different, so people don't connect it to the raimi films.

some people on various message boards have said this suit could be his wrestling outfit, as it bears a strong resemblence to the outfit seen in "With Great Power #2".

i however still don't care about spidey & probably won't until Marvel get's back the film rights to the character & makes a movie worthy of my money.
