Avatar (aka Giant Blue Cat Smurfs) Action Figures?

Post by Xenaphobia on Thu Dec 17, 2009 3:38 am

Has anyone spotted these in stores as yet?

I've been told that the 3.75" line has shown up in limited Big W stores, although as of last weekend, I haven't actually seen any in-store at any of my local Big W stores.

And I spotted the exclusive "Movie Masters" Jake Scully with the Avatar X-Box game at JB Hi Fi, but I don't want to have to buy a game just to get the action figure. Have the other Movie Master versions of Jake, Blue Uhura and soldier guy shown up anywhere?

Cheers.

Yep spotted these (the small ones and the big ones) at my local Big W last weekend. They were just sitting on a horizontal shelf though and had yet to be put on pegs so I'm thinking they got released a little early.

Bought a 3 3/4" Sigourney figure from Big W today - I have a bit of a thing.... Wink
Overall not the best going, better than Playmates Star Trek efforts though.

Checked another local Big W. It looked like they had just put the stock on the shelves (the racks were fully packed), but all they had were the 3.75" figures and the only ones they had were ALL humans.

Not a single Smurf in the whole bunch. And they didn't have any of the beasts or vehicles from Alien/s. I really hope that's not an indication of the stock received throughout Australia. Even if the movie is HUGE, I don't see kids demanding to play with "old lady", "random soldier dude" and "young Professor X".

Oh. $15.00 or so each.

Will try other Big W stores to hunt down the Movie Master versions.

Cheers.

Finally found a Big W that was stocking the Movie Masters figures. Only the human soldier left.

Of course, given the shelf with the relevant "sticker" on it was too small to actually fit the Movie Master figures, who knows what was going on with their stock.

And $27.95 (or something like that) each.

Cheers.

When I picked up Grace the other day in Big W I also saw 3 other humans in the 3.75" scale & 1 Movie Masters blue dude on the shelf. I'm soo bummed I didn't pick up the blue guy now, especially since I saw the movie (in 3D...woo hoo) only days after I saw them.

Saw these today, you'd think with the Batman MM stuff being so good, that good sculpts could be carried through the whole MM series, but alas, blue chunks of CRAP.....Very disappointed....Get the 4 Hoursemen onto it already.....

I picked up the small Jake and Grace at the end of 2009 and picked up Na'vi Jack and Neytiri Jan 1., my sister is in the U.S so I told her to keep an eye out for the big blue Ripley.

There has appeared a stack of different 3.75" Avatar Figures, and the next scale up (6"?) figure/s, and even a vehicle - all at Minotaur in Melbourne today.

Haven't seen any of the vehicles around. Was is the walking suit or the plane?

And being Minotaur is spose the 3.75" figures are about $50 each?

I thought the vehicle was a truck or tank. Will have to go back and look at it. From memory, the 3.75s were $21.95.
