I'm hoping not too much time is chewed up with origin stuff....even if it was completely different to the first (look characters etc) I still think a part 2 would be better than a stand alone movie.......final matrix scene needs a bit more work to "dirty" it up....looks way too CGI

Leterrier Talks "Hulk" Trailer, Fight

Post by BoloMusashi on Tue Mar 18, 2008 11:25 am

From DarkHorizons.com

Director Louis Leterrier recently talked through "The Incredible Hulk teaser trailer with Empire Magazine and revealed some interesting new facts.

Most notable, and my personal main problem with the trailer, is the rather hokey looking CG being used to create the Hulk and the Abomination in the last 30 seconds of the preview.

Leterrier confirms that those shots aren't done yet - "[We released the trailer quite late because] no shots are finished yet... None of the shots in this trailer are finished shots, but I think it's decent enough and it shows the audience what we're going for."

Also despite the way the trailer was layed out, expect the Hulk to show up early and often - "You'll see Bruce Banner transform in minute three. (Laughs) Minute three! That's what's good about it and it was really important when I was accepting the movie. We're not treating it as an origin movie but: Bruce Banner stepping into his chair and the gamma bomb and everything. He's the Hulk already, with the Hulk within him, and you get to understand how he came to be in this situation."

He's also not holding back with the finale glimpses in the trailer, which sounds fun but "King Kong"-esque in that it's a way too drawn out CG big creature fight - "unlike a normal movie where the final fight scene is six minutes long, ours is 26 minutes long! So you get 26 minutes of two monsters pummelling each other through New York City, jumping up and down, ripping helicopters from the sky and stuff. You know, lots of green blood on the street, splashed all around. So it's pretty cool. ...Some humans try to get out of the way but no, they can't... there's a little bit of collateral damage! (Laughs) There's a bit of a bodycount. Not on account of the Hulk -- the Hulk's a saviour -- but Blomsky [Abomination] is ruthless."

That trailer was giant sack of meh.

The only actor that even came close to emoting was Tim Roth, and he didn't have any lines.

Looks like Norton phoned it in to me.

Maybe it's just a bad trailer, and not indicative of the whole product, but going on that trailer alone, it looks (to me) to be far inferior to the first film.

See this is where i show my complete lack of know how of anything movie related and say i thought it looked awesome Embarassed
I could not care less all i saw was an Ultimate stylee story (banner droped from plane and abom's look) and i liked it, the bit where they run at each other as bystanders ran and jumped for cover looked great and had me hanging for the big fight, when i saw the trailer on the news it had me looking forward to the movie.
I must be easily pleased i guess Shocked

I have a feeling it's a bad trailer. IMO the first Hulk movie had a cool trailer and, IMO, that movie suck nuts. I just want a Hulk movie not an "emo Hulk" movie.

Question Considering that The Hulk is an id-driven creature, and governed almost exclusively by emotion - not higher reasoning - isn't that somewhat akin to wanting a Spider-Man film without acrobatic sequences?

I mean I'd prefer to see a movie that features a Hulk PO'd with the world rather than sulky Hulk crying about his daddy. I can handle a Spider-Man movie without the acrobatics as long as it's got a decent story *cough SM3 **.

Looks okay (ish).
I personally thought Hulk was a great film, but I`m a sucker for all that Fruedian father/son stuff. At the end when Hulk is sinking and we get the shot of him as a child saying goodnight to dad, that`s akin to wolverine and that fridge for me, or supes catching that helicopter!! Anyway, I digress. HULK 2, I guess this is probably the heartless CGI extravaganza for all those who thought the first one was crap.
