Doctor Who - Classics and New - CHEAP

Post by Xenaphobia on Fri Oct 23, 2009 6:27 am

Hi all,

Mr Toys Toyworld has the following Dr Who items:

- 12" Martha Jones and Novice Hame (Cat Nun) - $13.00 each.

- "Voyage of the Damned" Box Set including the Doctor, Astrid (aka Kylie Minogue) and two Hosts - $20.00 per boxed set.

- Series 1 Box Set including the Doctor, Rose, K9, Lady Cassandra, Dalek Sec (black Dalek), Robot Spiders and the Blue Alien from the second episode of the first series - $25.00 per boxed set.

- Dr Who Classics Series 1 including the 4th, 5th and 6th Doctor, Sea Devil, Zygon, a couple of robots and a dude with a mini-me (sorry, not sure what they're called) - $7.00 each.

- Jundoon Helmet - Forgot to check the price, but I'm guessing it is cheap.

Cheers.

If anyone can get me a set of those classics figures, or at least the three Doctors, please let me know, thanks.

Also, which version of The Doctor is in the series 1 boxed set? Eccleston or Tennant? And if it's Tennant, is it trenchcoat Tennant or one of the other versions? Thanks.

Jundoon Helmet was $15.00.

The version in the series 1 boxed set is Doctor No. 10 (Tennant) with brown trenchcoat (not sure what colour suit/converse).

The version in the VOTD set is Doctor No. 10 (Tennant) with blue suit, red converse.

Sledge Hammer - I might be able to do a pick-up next week. Did you want the whole series or just the three Doctors?

Cheers.

I definitely would grab the three Doctors, in fact thinking on it I think I'd be best off just getting the Doctors, because if I start collecting creatures too I'm doomed. And that series 1 boxed set as well, for the trenchcoat Tennant and K-9. Hmmm, maybe a Sea Devil and a Zygon as well....let me think on it a bit. Really appreciate the offer anyway mate, whether it works out or not. Smile

I'm a bit confused as to which set this is Xenaphobia - have a look at http://www.doctorwhoactionfiguresonline.co.uk/guides/sets_deluxe/

None of these sets seems to be the one you describe above...

Regardless of that... at $25 - I WANT ONE!!

Re: Store

Queen Street Mall, Brisbane. Not the Myer one, the one near Subway and The Reject Shop. BUT the Myer one did have stock of the VOTD sets and the 12" Martha Jones and Novice Hame so they may also get the other items.

Re: Products

They also had a big Dalek for $200.00. Probably around 18" and some kind of remote control thing. I was too cheap to look at it in any detail. I headed straight for the $7.00 figures (and damn if that isn't a great price).

Re: Pick-Ups

Post here or PM me over the weekend and I'll try and do a combined shop on Monday or Tuesday next week.

Re: Series 1 Set

I can't seem to find a photo of the set, but from memory it included: Trenchcoat Doctor No. 10, Series 2 Rose (not "disco" Rose), Dalek (black - Dalek Sec?), the Moxx of Balhoun (little blue guy with a chair, like the Farscape character), Cassandra (the piece of skin stretched on a frame), K9 and a couple of little robot spider type accessories.

Cheers.

An update on stock:

Only 1 x 5th Doctor remaining. Plenty of "aliens" left though.

Also, plenty of "Voyage of the Damned" sets, maybe eight Jundoon Helmets and at least six of the 18" Daleks.

Cheers.

Aret they getting any more of those in? I have a friend who is mad for the earlier Doctors and has been chasting them heavily.

And are there any good online stores for Doctor who figures/merchandise? Seems thin on the ground out here.

Re: More stock

It doesn't look like it. I'm pretty sure Funtastic only received limited amounts of the series 1 Classic Who figures and between ABC and now Mr Toys, it has probably all been distributed.

Re: Online store

Ebay. With the Aussie dollar doing so well, I've been picking up second hand/loose Dr Who figures from the UK for less than $10.00 (including shipping). I've also purchased from WhoNA and they were okay, but they're based in the US, so shipping is more expensive (and slower) than from the UK.

Cheers.

I finally got up to Mr Toys but all they had left was a mountain of 12" Novice Hame and Martha figs, and quite a few VOTD sets, oh and the large RC Daleks.

I agree with Xenaphobia - eBay from UK sellers seems the way to go. I just picked up a Dr & RC K9 pack for <$20 and a pair of Cybermen for $13 both inc post. I lashed out as well on a 3-pack of classic Daleks for $43 total.

There's not much more I'm chasing from Dr Who now, until they bring out a Leela figure!

Can anyone tell me what a factory mistake Davros figure with both arms made by Dapol in 1985-7 would be worth still in the packet?
