Packing figures...any advise?

Post by HAL on Thu Oct 15, 2009 6:30 am

I`m moving OS soon and am packing up all my figures (loose ML, DCD).....was going to put them individually into sandwhich bags and then just box them. They`ll be in a shipping container for about a month...think they`ll be ok? Any pointers? Do you think there`s a chance some will melt???

I'd suggest packing them in a sturdy box / container that isn't too deep and use bubble wrap as much as possible. I learnt the hard way that the weight of figures on themselves causes bending/breakages if stacked too deep!

Each time I've moved (just inter-suburb, not overseas), I've layered them.

Normally I "combo pack" clothing and breakables by putting down a layer of clothes, then a layer of action figures, another layer of clothes, another layer of action figures, etc.

It's worked well so far, but they were all pretty short trips/moves and I handled those boxes myself. As Mahzian suggested, the more bubble-wrap the merrier your action figures will be.

Cheers.

Hi,
for all my packing a well as bubble wrap I also go to the receiving dock at my local Target and they give me large bags of the white foam pieces they get when they unpack certain stock. It is always available and they would normally dump it. Cheers, Icey. Smile Smile Smile Smile Smile
