I make something...

Post by Octane on Tue Aug 18, 2009 10:23 am

You know I probably could not turn out a custom figure to save myself. But give me a couple of weeks and some cardboard or material and I can knock out a costume fairly reasonably.

Monsters and Demons beware......

I was actually supprised that several people out of the several thousand that attended the Japanese Anime Convention knew what I was. (Although better know in my native part of the world.)

Took about 2 weeks & several hundred $$ to get all the leather and stuff together. Colors where off a bit but to find a red robe in the middle of summer was difficult enough. The only thing I wanted to do better was the gold crown but I ran out of money and time to attempt to find a metal one. Yes the facial hair is real, although dye much blacker than the grey I was able to output.....

This costume isn't complete till you can ride on a cloud though Octane..... ;-)

*remembers scene from Dragon ball, where goku can ride the nimbus, but krillin tries to jump on but falls through cuz he has 'naughty' thoughts, unlike pure ol goku* : end tangent thought:

Con wise it our second biggest money wise (Pulling what I usually earn in a month at a regular job over 3 days) They said just over 4000 attended which is probably one of the biggest I vend at, we will not count the suck fest that was Wizard World Dallas, my biggest failure. Any con where I make money is a good Con (I am up to 14 a year, 3 major, 5 minor and 6 tiny) and I probably could earn a living just doing cons but I don't think I could handle all the traveling, plus I kind of like the safety blanket of a regular wage coming in with me being the only bread winner at home.

More pictures of crap I made soon....

That is soo freakin awesome Octane!

My brother loved Monkey when he was younger, so much that he insisted my mother call me "trippitaka" when I was born.

Needless to say she refused.

Unfortunately.

Another Month and yet another con... (Anime with far too many bad Naruto's and never enough good Sailor Moons)

Okay this was probably the cheapest and laziest I have ever gotten. Using my natural good looks I add about $30 in accessories and we get...

The Claws are very heavly modified kids halloween costumed ones. (I love my dremmel)

Someones too short or tall in this one. (and we both need to lay off the beers....)

Random Pinkness

(Just because.... I got smacked just for taking this photo........It was worth it... Sigh....)
