ABC shops are getting in stock of the 11 Doctors set. RRP should be around $160.00 (which is what my local ABC shop was quoting). That may be cheaper than Minotaur (although it is still a rip-off compared to UK prices).

Cheers.

Yeah it is a great site for seeing what has been released. But don't take their rumours section seriously.

Today I visited Cardiff, where Doctor Who is filmed, and visited the exhibition they have there. It was pretty cool! There was a shop too, of course, but it was very overpriced and they didn't have any figures or merchandise that vaguely interested me. No 11 Doctor sets either.

Back in Bristol went to Forbidden Planet today, they had the various Doctor + TARDIS combinations (1st, 4th, 7th from memory), the 1st Doctor from Unearthly Child and the 5th Doctor regeneration SDCC exclusive on the pegs plus a variety of other less rare figures. I just got an Earthshock Cyberman. (Oh, and a cool T-shirt).
They also had ONE 11 Doctor set on the shelf. I saw that they had them at SDCC, but this is the first store I've seen them in here.

My ABC shop said they had seen the Doctors set listed but passed.

She said they never buy the figures as they are unsure how they will sell. They do get some of the props like life-size K9 & stuff.

She said they could order the Doctors set for me. I might taker her up on that as it will probably be cheaper than buying it from the UK or from Minotaur.

I should ask her to get a set of the figures in. I will tell her I will buy one set & if the rest are still in the shop in a few weeks I will buy them too. I could just throw the extras on eBay or offer them here.

Think she would go for it?

She probably means the 'life sized' cardboard standees. I'm going to try and pick up a second set before I head home. I will probably split it up and offer them here before putting them on ebay.

OK I picked up my second set today! I'm leaving the UK tomorrow and will be home by the weekend. PM me for offers on who wants what figures. I will be keeping a couple, not sure which yet. Definitely up for grabs are the 6-9th doctors and the Matt Smith one. The earlier ones I think I'll keep unless I get offers I can't refuse!

OK no interest here, it seems, so Doctors 6,7,8 & 9 going on ebay today. Also Kylie, a Heavenly Host and the classic gold Dalek (Planet of the Daleks). May be putting up some other non Doctor related items too. Like my Obi-Wan lightsaber...

Got some bills to pay after that trip!

Yeah, sorry pal, no interest here. Although I have been very tempted on and off, I haven't bit at this line, even though I do like it quite a bit. Two main reasons for that, one I'm such a big Who fan that if I got started with this line I could soon see it grow into a large and expensive habit, and secondly, between MOTUC and the occasional higher end pieces that I pick up through the year, my collecting cash is pretty much fully accounted for as is.

Brisbane, Queensland Whovians - Mr Toys Toyworld in the Queen Street Mall has received more stock of the "series 5" figures (5" and 12").

Amy sold out pretty much immediately from their first batch, so if you want one, you'd best get in there ASAP or phone them and ask to reserve one.

Cheers.

I wouldn't bother even trying to find Amy at retail. With the good dollar, and subsidised shipping costs by Royal Mail, your best bet is to go to ebay.co.uk and pick her up there. I was able to get many new series figures cheaper than retail, especially if sent loose. Only the big playsets (Flight control Tardis) are worth picking up locally at the ABC store.

Rare figures like red/blue drone daleks, and the gorgeous amy, you should just order online.
There are some ebay AU sellers who just import and then resell them, which might be worth paying a small premium for if you just GOT to have that figure now, or in a weeks time.

I got an Amy MOC on eBayAU for about $20 I think.

There is an Aussie eBayer who sells loose Who figures. I don't usually buy loose but it is expensive to collect the Classics line so I'm thinking I will buy some of his items. Folks over at the Dr.Who forums say the seller is very reliable & the items are always in perfect loose condition.

If you don't mind loose, I find some of the Asian sellers have figures (of all kinds, but quite a lot of doctor who recently) loose, even the more exclusive ones like the two Masters. Saves a fortune instead of buying the exclusive ones mosc

Rowan played the Doctor in the Comic Relief "Curse of Fatal Death" spoof. It was fantastic. Not available on DVD unfortunately, but I have it on VHS. (Must digitise it one day, threw out the video player years ago).

Very Happy

At Minotaur:

11 Doctor set @ $150.

1 Doctor plus Tardis @ $100 - they had Doctors 1, 4 and 7

2-pack of 5th Doctor plus the Master or 2x Cybermen @ $70

I might be tempted by a 1st Doctor with Tardis.

I just hope the rumours are true & they are finally including some companions in classics.
