I think I must have missed them. I saw 'Waters of Mars' & 'The Next Doctor' on UKTV, but haven't seen the final episodes. Crying or Very sad

What? Has David Tennant been replaced already? I really liked him. My #2 fav after Tom Baker...

Not "replaced" as such. He chose to leave. Doctor No. 11 (or No. 12 depending on how you interpret the events of "Journey's End") is played by Matt Smith, a relative unknown.

There is a season 5 trailer out and about if you want a glimpse of him in action.

Cheers.

A couple of them aren't as good as their earlier releases, but even so, this is a must have. And at around fifty pounds (about $85 australian), a lot cheaper than I frankly would have expected to be honest...

Thanks for the link. Smile

The 11th Doctors set will be MINE!

As for availability in Australia, it appears that the Australian distributor has changed (or there is now a second distributor) which means that the new merchandise has been showing up in ABC shops as well as Mr Toys and I think a couple of other stores.

Provided those shops are happy with the sales of those figures (they seem to have sold well at ABC shops, although my local "collectors" Mr Toys still has tonnes of stock), then I would expect them to order the 11 Doctors set. At the very least, it will probably show up (over-priced) at places like Minotaur and other speciality stores.

A company called Ikon has also been offering some of the new Doctor Who figures on-line (http://www.ikoncollectables.com.au/).

Cheers.

Hey guys, I'm in Switzerland at the moment and heading back to UK in a few days. I'll have a hunt for these, and if I find them I'll let you know. Probably won't have room to lug them back but could probably arrange to post them. I'll check back in a couple of days. PM me if interested.

Damn. I'm going back mid July. Ok well, any other requests I'm happy to look. Saw Forbidden Planet has a store in Bristol where I'll be staying. Didn't get a chance to check it out on the way over here.

I'm still in the UK and the box set has been released and available on ebay and from various stores. I'm going to be here for another month or so now, so will definitely pick one up. Going for 50 pounds most places, which is close to $90 with the sliding exchange rate, but that works out at $8.20 per figure, which isn't bad, although I'm not so keen on a couple of them. Not sure I can afford to buy multiples as I have no income while I'm over here, but PM me if you are desperate for one and I'll see what I can arrange. I reckon best bet is just to order direct from character options website before they're all gone...

Thanks for the heads up guys, I'll have to keep an eye out...though I think I'll have to wait and hope as far as the Doctors boxed set goes, as next month MOTUC is going to swallow a fair chunk of my change...

Sadly I'm not at all a fan of the Matt Smith doctor, or his TARDIS. Thinking about grabbing a second 11 docs set though and selling them off individually on ebay. They seem to fetch a fair dollar, and if that pays for my set, I'd be well pleased.

Ordered my set from Character Options online today. Free shipping to the UK sounds good to me, and saves me trawling stores while I'm here. Will write a review once it arrives.

Re: Doctor Who? random gold...

Got it. It's awesome!

I rate this set 10/10 - great likenesses and paint apps. Value for money too, but only because I didn't pay any shipping! Adding another 25 pounds for postage to Aus would tip the scales, because it requires a BIG box!

I essentially bought this for the first four doctors only, being as that Pertwee and Tom Baker were the ones I grew up with. The first two doctors look exceptional.

Pertwee's sculpt is a bit off, and while I like the outfit on Tom, his expression is a bit freaky (probably THOSE eyes), but at least he doesn't have the cheesy grin the first figure released came sporting.

The Colin Baker figure doesn't do anything for me, he looks like a bloody clown! I can't say I ever watched any of his episodes, nor the McCoy years. I don't like the new Matt Smith doctor either, but having the whole set is neat and it's in a really cool TARDIS box, so I'm not going to be opening this one up... I do like the new head sculpt on the Tennant figure, they got the hair just right.

The eighth doctor (McGann) looks excellent, but only ever made one appearance. This figure is only available in this set and has been fetching a fair dollar loose on ebay, I've noticed.

UK Mail service is top notch I must say. Arrived in 2 days after ordering online!

I think this pretty much completes my Doctor Who figure collection, at least until (if) they release a Leela figure, or a Tom Baker sporting his Sherlock Holmes hat.

thumbs up 2

That is freakin awesome Nightcrawler!!

I think I will wait till that store in Melbourne gets them in...Minotaur. They will probably charge an arm & a leg for the set, but it is worth it.
