DrSpleens Display...

Post by drspleen on Thu Jul 02, 2009 4:26 am

Ok, I finally purchased a Detolf for my figures, but I'm having problems with keeping figures standing. Not sure if it's the fact it's on a bit of a pathway through the house, or the glass panels being slippery, but things are falling over more than usual.

I was thinking about investing in some stands and/or placing down some of that ikea non-slip surface. What does everyone else do?

Also has anyone had a glass platform break from a heavy figure falling on it? I'm a bit paranoid of putting top heavy BAFs in just in case...

I have mine on carpet and they dont move.
As for weight I have 6 mini busts or 3 statues on each shelf so I would imagine a BAF falling on the shelf shouldnt be an issue.
I would suggest some sort of stands for the figures though

Yeah figures tend to topple due to the glass. Try slapping some stands in there - good way to maxmise the space.

Revised Collection

Post by drspleen on Wed Jul 15, 2009 4:40 pm

Recently moved house and I've been trying to change my displayed collection from being everything I have to...uh... i guess you'd call them themed favourites. also got a whole bunch of those whippy 12" figure stands. Seem awesome right now, but I'll let you know if they buckle over time...

First thing I did was sort everything into display and store, took a while:

The new detolf:

Couldn't put these away...

JLA (and Powergirl)

TV shows

Avengers

Other Comics

and the overflow, which will hopefully go into another detolf with more stuff one day...

Misc DC

Misc Faves...

Still have tonnes of stuff I'd like to put out. Marvel Knights, X-Men, Street Fighter, more DCUC, New Gods display... I've hopefully got a friend picking me up the WonderTwins from SDCC, if that happens I'll be tempted to switch the JLA for a SuperFriends and LoD display...
