ADELAIDE'S BIGGEST TOY FAIR - WAYVILLE SAT. 30TH & SUN. 31ST MAY.
Just a post to let all you South Australian collectors know that Adelaide's biggest Annual Toy Fair is on again for the 15th year running at the Wayville Showgrounds on Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st May.
I will have a couple of tables as usual and I have had a message that Funkymonster will have a table as well for his first ever time. There is an interstate contingency coming as per usual and there are 250 tables plus so there will be something there for everyone that collects toys of any description. Entrance cost just $7.00 with children $1.00. Doors open to the public at 10.00 am each day.

Hey Everyone,
This is always the toy collecting highlight in Adelaide.
One of the benefits of living here. I generally go every year (missed one, because I was sick) and had to recover because of uni, but I really do love this. The unknown is always so powerful. It is like Christmas Day as a kid, what will Father Christmas deliver to the fair? lol Does anyone know if Melbourne has anything like this? I would consider traveling to Melbourne for their fair if I knew when they had it each year.
Take Care,
Darren

From the murmurs I heard at the last Parramatta fair, apparently there are quite a few smaller ones - but I'll let the local guys confirm your answer!

Hello Amy,
Yes, we have some smaller ones in Adelaide as well. This one is just the main one and with Free Comic Book Day and some of the other toy collecting events this one to me is the collecting highlight on Adelaide's calander each year.

What kind of Star Wars stuff do they usually have at this event?

Re: ADELAIDE'S BIGGEST TOY FAIR - WAYVILLE SAT. 30TH & SUN. 31ST MAY.
Usually a wide cross section of Star Wars from the latest to some vintage. Plenty of ships and figures. Kollectable Kaos usually has a contingent as do Galaxy Toys. I will have some figures from 1995 to present that I no longer collect (going cheap). They even have a couple of fans that like to wear their costumes around for awhile. All in all it will be a fun weekend that no collector of toys should miss.

Is Adelaide a real place?
I just thought it was the sound people make when they yodel.
250 tables sounds like a lot, will try to make a trip down for this next year.

Re: ADELAIDE'S BIGGEST TOY FAIR - WAYVILLE SAT. 30TH & SUN. 31ST MAY.
Hello Everyone,
I had a great day today, really awesome.
For those wondering about Adelaide, but from a Toy and Comic collecting perspective I do not think we do too badly.
We have:
Galaxy Toys at Goodwood. (Lots of vintage and modern toys)
Stuck in the 80s at Tranmere. Name says it all 80s stuff and there re-makes.
Shintokyo (A lot of Japanese toys including Transformers)
Kollectable Kaos (Two locations, the City and Pooraka) They sell toys, statues, busts, comics, trade paperbacks, graphic novels, hardcover editions.
Pulp Fiction Comics (Comics, trade paper backs, collected editions, hardcover editions, graphic novels, figures, busts, statues, etc (City)
The Comic Shop (City) Comics, graphic novels, trade paperbacks, collected editions, hardcover editions, etc.
Collector orientated gift stores:
Fellas Gifts (Lots of High End Batman stuff) Four locations, including the City).
Wacky Shack (Myer Centre, City)
Off Ya Tree (Lots of NECA stuff) (City)
Imagine If (4 stores across Adelaide suburbs)
Not too mention the many different markets that sell figures and cool toys. I can think at least five different markets with multiple stall traders selling action figures in each.
Take Care,
Darren

Hello Amy,
I am sorry. I meant to answer this one before now. I knew that you were talking in relation to Melbourne having smaller events. However, I know that Adelaide has some small ones during the year. I was wondering if it was possible for us as a community to put together a list of all of the different Toy Fairs across Australia and the approximate times of the year, locations, etc that they occur? However, this is just an idea.
Take Care,
Darren

Re: ADELAIDE'S BIGGEST TOY FAIR - WAYVILLE SAT. 30TH & SUN. 31ST MAY.
What a great weekend. Caught up with Brenton (Funky Monster) who had his table in the same area as me and a couple of long time toy collector mates. I do believe Brenton thoroughly enjoyed it and will be back next year for more. Glad you had a great time Darren. Hope you scored some good stuff. There was some great toys there. I scored some great loose Marvel Legends and a couple of Marvel Universe figures for $12.00 each. The wife was happy as I turned over some cash and made some space at home (not that you can tell).

Re: ADELAIDE'S BIGGEST TOY FAIR - WAYVILLE SAT. 30TH & SUN. 31ST MAY.
I certainly did enjoy it. First time I've been on the other side of the table. I've now managed to clear some space in my shed. It was great to chat with Iceman and the other sellers. They're a friendly bunch and great to chat to. I didn't buy much (which is a change) It was great to chat to different people that stopped at my table. Its amazing all the different things that people collect and talk about. Anyway, I'll be back next year.
