Nice work with the Julia Carpenter Spider-Woman, it'll make a nice addition to any Avengers and Alpha Flight display. I have a feeling I'll be customising one as well - damn variant costs too much.

Yep, I agree. I'm just going through the roster of Avengers now, I've decided to make all of the b teams etc that are never gonna get some representation. Just finished a Mockingbird!

So something just a little different from me... this was a mothers' day present for my wife from me last sunday. After years of having self doubt about actually putting brush to canvas, this is what I came up with..

Any thoughts...., be kind though.

Not much time for customs at the moment, this one's been sitting on the desk for months. The figure everybody wants but nobody can afford, JLU Hal Jordan. The body is Jon Stewart, and the head is Lex Luthor from the three pack which included Mirror Master. I just sculpted hair onto his head using old GL comics as a reference and trying not look like Supes hair too much. He had articulation so I sculpted over his arm and leg joints as well. the symbol is just cut out from a printed image.I sculpted the mask, the eyes maybe a little off but after 6 attempts they will have to do.

Thanks for looking

I thought I would dust this old thread off and show off some new customs from the JLU fodder box....
First up is Thor. Aquaman base, Supes cape and cardboard for helmet wings and knee pads. I couldn't fit the other two discs to his costume..

Next up is sort of classic Aquaman, definitely not my recipe. I've seen this version before on line somewhere, I am not taking credit. Just a re-paint.

Punisher is a Supes with sculpted hair, paint here and there. I sculpted around his shoulders as well.

Hawkeye is a Mirror master with craft foam pieces to straps, cardboard to waist thingo and sculpted mask. I still have to make a few little accesories for him...arrows etc.

Iron Man is an Orion with a little sculpey and the unholy combo of red and yellow paint

Scarlett Witch is a Huntress base with modified Wonder Woman head and cardboard for head band.

Quicksilver is a Lex base with sculpey to the lightning design, not the best but it will do.

Wasp is a modified Wonder Woman with card bubble plastic for the wings.

My goal is to customize as many Marvel characters as I can out of the fodder box, 95% finished an Ant Man, post pics soon.
Thanks

I know a bit late, but that painting is beautiful Nitey. The soft blossoms are contrasted by the heat and strength of the glow behind. It gives me a sense of something else about to happen, like more blossoms will erupt, or the dark of the tree enveloped by the pink glow. Look forward to more stuff.

Hey thanks, Grimr. I have done a few more since then and have decided to join a local arts society up here on the coast, I just get nervous about showing some of my art of though.
